Some Info.
This Cat was "found" in a neighbor's garage. It had sat for over 12 years after a hip replacement would not allow him to sit in the car.
After removing years of boxes, bags, and general "stuff", I realized it was a diamond in the rough.
The owner seemed to feel it had a blown head gasket, (white smoke at last start up) so to be safe I replaced both head gaskets (200 hours), rebuilt the carbs, rebillt the brake systems and changed all fluids before starting her up.
2000+ miles later and I am still smiling!
Since then I have installed a new interior, New vinyl top, and continue to restore the mechanical systems one at a time.
Hopefully I will be ready for a repaint in a few years. It is a regular driver. I do not plan a trailer queen restoration.
I guess then I will have to un-check the originality box.
Gotta love these Cats!
