For sale at Witmer and Odijk of Warmond for 79,950 euros. Abbreviated seller's description below.
www.witmerodijk.nl/for-sale/jaguar-e-type-series-iii-roadster-'73/799

Condition: This specific car arrived in the Netherlands in 1990 and subsequently had only one owner, an aficionado who was primarily interested in driving a car that should be as original as possible, as if it were to be a time machine; for instance, large sections of the car retain the original paint and the interior is entirely original. Delivered new to California, and owing to always being carefully garaged, the body is hard and rust free. The owner was passionate about his Jaguar and hence much was invested in the mechanics in recent years, while the exterior remains original and retains the original look of a genuine classic car that has aged gracefully over the years. Wonderfully preserved and only driven in dry summer weather. There are a few slight signs of wear that prove how beautifully this car has aged. A person can endlessly restore a car, but one rarely finds a truly original E Type, which must be taken into account whenever one speaks of this fine model.

Equipment: This E Type comes equipped with air conditioning, power steering, adjustable steering wheel, tinted glass, Tobacco leather on the seats, spoked wheels and an authentic period radio.

Exterior: the body is free of cavities, nothing filled or welded, she is completely damage free. The chrome all around retains its beautiful deep shine. A richly atmospheric sable brown with shine and colour all over.

Interior: The completely original interior is in beautiful condition, clearly rarely used and expertly maintained. The wonderfully tasteful interior combines beautifully with the colour of the car's exterior. Original and soft leather from 1972 on the seats, which feature headrests. The original leather indicates just how little the car was driven and how slight is the sun's impact. The dashboard and indicator switches are pristine and function perfectly, the beige floor carpet is flawless, It is entirely beautiful and original.

Engine, boot, wheels and tyres: The wholly original engine compartment houses the 272hp strong V12 engine with four SU carburettors. Mechanically well cared for and respectfully driven. The boot is pristine and original, with new floor mats and with car tools, spare spoked tyre and jack stored underneath. The four chrome spoked wheels shine beautifully, are free of weather damage and have four excellent Good Year tyres all round.

History; This E Type was sold new in California in 1973. The first owner sold the car to the second owner in 1990 with only 18,000 miles on the odometer, since then the car has driven only 12,000 miles more. The car was driven by a Dutch dentist living in Italy for more than 20 years , and he always took her back to the Netherlands when any major maintenance or MoT inspections were needed. From 2005 onwards all rubber, hoses and filters were renewed. This car has spent its entire life in the dry climates of California and Italy, hence this E Type has a hard, rust free body. A time capsule!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
