Current bid US $24,422.00

Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar XKE V12 Convertible
4 Speed
Air Conditioning
One Owner
Original Mileage: 20,063
(Twenty thousand and sixty-three)
Original and Not Restored

VIN: JDIS23143

This is an amazing find for someone who is prepared to fully restore this one owner E-Type Roadster and bring it back to its original condition when new.

Our seller purchased this XKE when new from the dealership shortly after graduation from medical school. It has traveled only 20,063 miles in total and has been in storage for most of its life.

Several years ago he considered putting it back on the road and contacted a mechanic who made sure that the engine would "turn-over" (although it was not started and run), and the brakes were gone through. Other commitments caused a change in plans, and again, it was put back in storage. The original owners manual was misplaced many years ago and has not been found.

It is being sold with the understanding from the buyer that it will require a complete restoration.

When purchased new, the undercarriage was "rustproofed" with the Ziebart process offered by the dealership. As you look through the pictures, you will note the lower front valence (below the grill) has the most notable surface rust. We are told by our seller that all of the paint is original and that it has never been in an accident. All of the tires are said to be original.

This XKE is being offered in "as is" condition of course.

his 1973 Jaguar E-Type Roadster remained with its original owner for 45 years and shows 20,063 miles. The car was reportedly used for touring and weekend drives over its first decade, and had been kept in a Michigan garage for over 20 years prior to its acquisition from the original owner by the selling dealer in late 2018. Finished in Silver with a black top over Russet leather upholstery, it is equipped with a numbers-matching 5.3L V12 paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox and retains factory-style tires, underbody markings, and more. This E-Type has not been started in years and will need mechanical refreshment according to the selling dealer. It is offered in Texas with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, vintage photographs, and the original owner’s 1974-issue Michigan title.

he original owner reportedly stated that paint or bodywork had not been performed, and photos of depth readings taken from around the vehicle are provided in the gallery below. The finish reportedly shows evidence of heavy polishing throughout the years. Glass etchings are shown up close along with factory brightwork, Lucas headlamps, lenses, Trico wiper blades, and other trim.

he car retains an original-style black soft top which has shrunken with age and is torn with a missing rear window. A factory vinyl top boot accompanies the car. Original-style Dunlop SP tires retain inner tubes and are said to hold air. Each corner is detailed in the gallery along with the trunk compartment, which contains a spare wheel, vinyl-sleeved jack, and Headfast lead hammer but is missing a board and cover.

Under the front-hinged bonnet is a 5.2-liter V12 featuring four Stromberg carburetors and linked to a 4-speed manual gearbox. The car has been stored for over 20 years and will need mechanical refreshment to get it running according to the seller. Corrosion is noted in the battery tray area. The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate states that this E-Type was completed in June 1973 and dispatched for New York the following July. The original chassis, engine, and body numbers are listed as well as the factory colors of silver over Russet leather. The car is sold on a Michigan title issued in October 1974 and shown in the gallery below.
