This 1973 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III 2+2 coupe which was sold new at Melloy Brothers, Inc. of Albuquerque, New Mexico in May 1973 and registered to the husband of Francine Irving Neff, the 35th Treasurer of the United States. The car was purchased by the seller’s brother-in-law in 1989, and was acquired by the seller in Southern California in 1994. Power is from a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the body is finished in red over a tan interior. Features include air conditioning, chrome wire wheels, a Sony cassette stereo, and more. This E-Type 2+2 is offered with manuals, a vehicle information card, spare parts, service records from 1993 onward, and a California title in the seller’s name.

This example was repainted in its current red under previous ownership in the early 1980s. A dent is noted in the left front bumper. New windshield and rear window seals were reportedly installed at 71k indicated miles.

Chrome 15″ wire wheels with earless spinners were a factory option and wear older Goodyear Vector whitewall tires sized 205/75 all around. The front suspension was reportedly rebuilt at 64k indicated miles, and new front brake rotors were installed at approximately 76k.

The cabin is trimmed in tan upholstery with matching carpets and door panels. The front seats were reportedly reupholstered and a new headliner installed during the seller’s ownership. A crack is noted in the dash pad at the windshield, and there is a tear on the top of the back seat.

Features include air conditioning, late-model rocker switches, a 1990s Sony cassette stereo, and a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel. A factory wheel is included in the sale. Just over 80k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 16k of which have been added by the seller in 25 years.

The 5.3-liter V12 features four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 264 horsepower when new. An oil and filter change was reportedly performed in 2017, and the following service was carried out in the past 15k miles under the seller’s ownership:

Engine- and transmission-out service with new clutch
Water pump replaced
Valve job performed
Fuel pump and alternator replaced
Valve and camshaft adjustments performed

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Moss four-speed manual transmission, with the first- and second-gear synchros slow to engage according to the seller. Additional underside photos are viewable in the gallery below.

The car comes with service records from 1993 onward as well as its original stamped metal Vehicle Information Card, a $2 bill signed by Francine Irving Neff, a 1989 registration certificate in the name of Edward Neff.
