Car returns to ebay 7/8/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1973-Jaguar-E-type-2-2-coupe-Gorgeous-blue ...
Current bid $6,766 reserve not met, 4 bids 4 days left in auction. Buy it now price $26,000. Car now said to be in Tucson, Arizona. 54k miles.
Sellers description:
This beautiful E-type 2+2 is about as good as they get. Not only is it a treat for the eyes but it runs and drives great. It has been driven just enough to keep all systems happy. It is totally rust and Bondo free and has never been hit. The air conditioning blows cold enough even for Summer driving in Tucson and the radiator has recently been upgraded to an aluminum unit that keeps the engine running at thermostat temperature even when stuck in traffic.
There is a long list of recent work that has been performed on the car besides the radiator and all coolant hoses. The carbs were rebuilt and the fuel system cleaned out and a new fuel pump was fitted. It has a new Stainless steel exhaust system.
Also replaced recently was the steering rack and power steering hoses. The ignition system was modernized to a new electronic system
The shocks are new front and rear as well as the rear suspension mounts and all U-joints. It wears new Michelin tires on it’s chrome wire wheels.
The transmission has been rebuilt also. The brakes have been serviced including hydraulic system.
The windscreen is new and the side windows are lightly tinted.
This is only a partial list of work done recently but it covers the majority of it.
The short story is this is a beautiful car that is road-ready now with NO excuses. Drive it home to wherever it is you call home.
The leather interior is original and is not quite perfect, there are 2 seams in the driver’s seat squab that are losing their stitching for about 2 inches each but otherwise it is in excellent condition, especially for a 36 year old car!
This is a delightful car to drive, the smooth V-12 with the automatic transmission make for a very pleasurable experience either in town or on the open road.
The pictures don’t really do the car justice, we recommend any seriously interested bidder make the trip to Tucson and see the car in person and drive it. Take it to an independent mechanic for evaluation if you like.
