cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-Type-JAGUAR-XKE-V12-COUPE-1973_W0QQitemZ ...
Current bid $14,300, reserve met, 28 bids. 1 day left in auction. Car now said to be in Birmingham, Alabama.
Sellers description:
Beautiful 1973 Jaguar XKE V12 -Coupe- British racing green with factory air conditioning. Fitted with a custom built GM 350 V8 engine complete with electronic ignition, GM transmission, power steering and Harrison a/c compressor. All remaining parts are factory original including factory fans on cooling system. The factory British radio is still with the car yet an updated Panasonic am/fm radio is currently installed.
Interior is light buckskin cloth and leather that was updated in 1984. No tears in the headliner or seats. Original seatbelts are intact in the front and back seats. This is a non-smoker automobile.
The custom GM powerplant was professionally built and installed by renowned engine specialist Lee Hurley in Birmingham, Al. in 1984 and has only 4500 documented miles on it. This was done to insure both driveability and dependability with minimum expense for years to come. While this automobile runs strong, it is not a hot rod for teenagers.
This Jaguar has it's 5 original wire knockoff wheels including the spare and are in good condition. The British racing green paint shows no cracking or orange peel and has been garaged since it was bought in early 80's. The chrome is in great shape with no dents in the body. Slight rust was present in the battery box but has been cleaned up. There are no fluid leaks on this jag.
Own a piece of history not only from the design by Jaguar but also by the fact that this documented automobile is customized by the legendary Lee Hurley who has done the same for well known Neil Bonnett of Nascar and actor Paul Newman. 2 factory manuals are included with documentation.

Car returns to ebay 10/5/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-Type-1973-Jaguar-XKE-2-2-V-8-/1604893276 ...
Current bid $1,675 reserve not met, 4 bids 9 days left in auction. Now said to be in Littleton, Colorado.
Sellers description:
E-type 2+2 Jag but has a 350 Chevy V-8 installed in it.
So you have the style and elegance of the best looking car ever built with the preformance and reliability of the best selling V-8 in American history.
I bought this car 3 years ago from a gentleman in Alabama and had it shipped here to me in Colorado. I have since done a few things to it but most of custom work was done by the previous owner. The engine swap was done by a former race car driver and builder there in Alabama. I have temporarily misplaced the file on the builder but he was very well known and well versed in engine modifications. I will add more info on him if possible later. The engine work was done right around 1980. And the car really hasn't been driven that much. The previous owner bought the car for his wife and decided to have this engine installed. Since then he retired and decided to buy a motorhome instead. So the car sat mostly unused for some years. The upholstery was also redone around the same time. Although the paint isn't the best quality it still has a nice shine as does the interior.
Details to the best of my knowledge are:
Car is completely original with the exception of the 350 Chevy V-8. If I remember right, the previously owner said it came out of a Corvette. Along with the automatic transmission.
Air conditioning- Pretty cold but probably needs recharging.
Electric thermostatic controlled engine cooling fans.
Odometer reads a bit over 48,000 miles- can't guarantee they are original but I beleive they are myself. But possibly could be 148,000 as there is no 6th digit
Dual exhaust dumps into 4 pipes at the back for a very cool effect and has a great V-8 sound.
Exterior color is British Racing Green with a Tan Interior.
Older repaint job. Slight waves here and there but still very nice looking.
Signs of small rust areas underneath but pans are in great shape.
Rack and pinion front end was gone through by previous owner.
New front pads and rotors but are a bit spongy for some reason.
All glass is good as is chrome.
Nice wire wheels with very good 70 series Dunlop tires.
Interior is very good but padding under drivers seat is starting to deteriorate.
Radio works but speakers are not the best.
V-12 tach has not been converted to V-8 yet so it is not hooked up.
Needs a new glovebox lock.
No wiper washing motor or nozzle tip.
Car also will leave oil spots from time to time but only minor.
Now I realize there are a few things that will need addressed and I might be listing too many negative things about the car. But I believe in disclosing as much as possible. With a little TLC these things can be taken care of over a winter easily or a little at a time while you still enjoy the car on the weekends and such. It is very much road worthy and reliable. No flat tires the next morning or overheating problems. Just a few details. This is the funnest car I have ever driven and still drive today. It gets more looks than if you were driving a brand new Ferrari. A real James Bond kind of car. Take it to a car show and park across the street and see how many people cross the street to look at the pretty Jag. It's just that cool. And a great color combination. I get compliments every time I take it out, even if it's down to the store and back. Did I mention how it handles? I live by a very nice windy canyon that is my favorite drive in the Jag. It handles the curves like it's on rails. And with power to burn.
All in all this car is a dream and looks like one too. I have a good clear Colorado title in hand also. I really hate to sell her but I must.
