Ebay item 2/6/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1973-Coupe-V-12-40K-Unmolested-Survivor-Go ...
Current bid $10,099, no reserve, 13 bids, 8 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
This Gorgeous Two Owner, low mileage 1973 Jaguar XKE V-12 FHC (fixed head coupe) in stunning Regency Red with Parchment Leather.

This particular example is a TWO OWNER car!!! We purchased it from a Doctor in Southampton, New York. It had been "Sleeping" in his Garage since 1987!!! It was originally purchased by Peter Mollica on June 24, 1974 at Foreign Imports in Arlington Virginia. Peter drove his beloved Jaguar until sometime around July of 1981. Judging by the extensive service history, he took Excellent care of his Jag, and mostly had it serviced at the dealer, as evidenced by the stamps in the service booklet, and the copies of the repair orders that we have. Right around July 21, 1981 the Doctor from Southampton, New York acquired the car with 32,000 miles showing on the odometer. Whilst perusing through the service records, we've come across an invoice for an odometer change. This occurred in March of 1975, at 7,966 miles (add the 33,000 miles on the current odometer and you get roughly 40,000 miles). Almost immediately after purchase the Doctor had the transmission rebuilt. I have the receipt, but there is no mileage listed, however there is an insurance verification inspection receipt dated 5 days later with 32,420 miles. The latest receipt that I have is dated October 9,1986 (FIVE years later) with 32,817 miles listed. Fast Forward almost 20 years when we find it tucked away in his garage.......virtually undisturbed!!!!! The odometer stated 32,882 miles. It was driven a whopping 65 miles before going to sleep. It is equipped with factory air conditioning that blows cool (it probably needs a receiver/drier), Power Steering and an Automatic Gearbox. The Chrome Wire Wheels with new whitewall radials are just Gorgeous, as is the rest of the car. The odometer on this vehicle now reads 33,056 miles(I drove it more in the last few months than he did in 25 years.....amazing!!!).

When we acquired it, it was COMPLETELY original (It may have had some minor paintwork over the years). It is one of the Nicest examples that I have seen. It runs and drives extremely well and is very tight and solid. We're sure the winning bidder will be just delighted!!!

This is a Wonderful XKE. This is a car that we ALL dream about finding.........Two documented owners since new in 1973.... Original as they come...with the original owners manual, passport to service booklet, and keys. As mentioned above we have ALL of the service history since new. We even have the original bill of sale!!! As you will see in the 40 pictures below(you may have to hit refresh a few times to get them all to load, but they are well worth it). This Jag coupe is collector quality. Now, it is not without fault, It is 33 years old, and is not perfect.....BUT..... It is one of the nicest XKE V-12 Series III coupes that you will find. I will do the best that I can to describe it's actual condition below.

In the last few hundred miles (and 10 months), after the car was taken out of storage, it has been completely re-commissioned. Almost $7,000.00 has been spent to (try and)ensure reliability, and motoring pleasure. We have receipts for the following......

Complete Tune Up
Rebuild all 4 carburetors, including new diaphragms(Apple Hydraulics)
Replace 12 sparking Plugs
Replace Distributor Cap and Rotor
Replace Sparking Plug Wires
Replace Air Filters
Replace Fuel Filter
Replace Rear Resonator
Replace Both Exhaust Collectors
Change Oil and Filter
Replace Both Upper and Both Lower Ball Joints
Replace Transmission Mount, and Bushing
Replace Oil Pressure Sending Unit
Replace Wiper Blades
Replace All Brake Pads
Resurface Front Rotors
Replace Various Brake Lines
Replace all Rubber Brake Hoses
Replace Water Pump
Replace Engine Drive Belts
Replace Battery
Replace Fuel Tank with a New One
Replace Fuel Level Sender
Repair/Replace various lights and vacuum hoses.
Replace Headlining
Replace All Four Tires

As expected it is sheer heaven to drive. It now performs beautifully, and should be ready to be loved and enjoyed by the next lucky owner.

The exterior colour is called "Regency Red", and is Gorgeous!! I see no signs of previous damage, and of course no rust is present (that we are aware of). We color sanded and buffed the entire car. Afterwards, the bonnet was removed, and painted underneath. While upside down, we also repaired all of the usual damage/dents to the chin area. The bonnet was then re-intsalled, and painted on the outside, along with some touch up on the rear quarters down low behind the wheels. We have also replaced the upper grille molding. There is a small ding on the lower, that is not very noticable. The rest of the chrome is original. While it has a very nice shine to it, it is still original, and is starting to show its age. We also installed a new piece of foam at the top of the radiator, a new weatherseal on the cowl, and new seals on the tops of the door frames. There are new seals at the quarter panels, where the doors close. This 1973 Jaguar V-12 now makes a grand appearance and causes a commotion wherever it goes. This car draws more attention than almost ANY car on the road today (including my Rolls Royce Corniche). The XKE is one of the most notable sports cars ever conceived, and is ever increasing in value. I would consider it an exotic at a VERY affordable price, that will be a great investment.

The interior is beautiful Parchment leather. It is also completely original, including the Wilton Wool carpets. We replaced the drivers side with an aftermarket piece of carpeting(the original that we ordered did not match), and makes a Lovely appearance. We have had the front seats re-dyed to freshen them. The headliner has recently been replaced, and is just beautiful. The headrests are in great condition as well, and have just been "restuffed". The dash and gauges are in very nice condition, they all appear to be in proper working order(excluding the clock). Also we noticed that the heater core has been by-passed, resulting in no heater. The Original AM FM Multiplex radio sounds just great. Tthe interior is Gorgeous, and shows extremely well.

This beautiful Two owner XKE V-12 has just been safety checked and thoroughly inspected. It starts with ease and runs super. This wonderful Jaguar XKE is just Gorgeous, and is ready to be driven and enjoyed for many years to come.

Please realize you are bidding on a vehicle that is THIRTY THREE years old. I have spent A LOT of time with this car and have tried to describe it as accurately as I possibly can. We have done the necessary mechanical work and tried to repair/adjust everything that needed to be done. The more that I look at it the nicer it gets. As with all collector cars this Fabulous 1973 XKE V-12 is being sold without any warranty. It has a clean PA. Title that reads "exempt" for mileage. Thanks for your interest. Good Luck and Happy Bidding.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is: UD1S75163BW
