This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster was acquired by the selling dealer in 2022 as a non-running project and is finished in dark green over tan leather. The retained 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is further equipped with 15” knock-off wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, and power steering as well as a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, a cassette stereo, and a black soft top and top boot. This Series III E-Type is now offered as part of DriverSource’s As-Discovered Collection with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, an owner’s manual, tools, spare parts, and a Texas title.

The car left the factory finished in Sable paint and underwent a color change to its current green finish under previous ownership. It wears a black soft top and top boot along with European-market front bumper overriders paired with US-spec units out back. Further details include uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, a driver-side mirror, and a power antenna.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with Cooper Trendsetter radial tires measuring 215/70. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering as well as four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The front bucket seats feature headrests and are trimmed in tan leather. Color-coordinated upholstery extends to the center armrest as well as the door panels and sills. Further amenities include an AM/FM cassette stereo, a cabin heater, and a lockable glovebox.

The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. A Sunpro oil pressure gauge has been installed in place of the factory Smiths unit in the center stack and is accompanied by an analog clock as well as readouts for voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, and the selling dealer states that total mileage is unknown.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. The selling dealer states that the engine turns over but does not run.

The engine block stamping is shown above.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The selling dealer notes rust on various underside components.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate lists a November 28, 1973, date of manufacture date and shows that the car was distributed through British Leyland of New York.

A collection of tools and spare parts will accompany the car.

The Texas title carries “Not Actual Mileage” and “VIN certification waived” notations under the Remarks section.
