Current bid US $11,400 reserve not met 4 bids 6 days left in auction, buy it now price $55,000, seller custom-transportation, 87k miles.

Sellers description:
THIS IS A MATCHING NUMBERS 1974 V12 JAGUAR XKE ROADSTER THE LAST YEAR OF PRODUCTION FOR THIS MODEL
EQUIPPED WITH A 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION, WIRE WHEELS & AIR CONDITIONING WITH A FACTORY JACK & KNOCK OFF TOOLS

THIS GREEN SAND COLORED E HAS HAD IT'S OLIVE INTERIOR DYED TO BLACK SO THERE ARE SIGNS OF THAT. THE RUGS WERE REPLACED WITH A NEW SET IN BLACK . THIS WORK WAS DONE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER IN 2008.
THE PAINT IS CHECKING IN PLACES AND THERE IS A SMALL RUST SPOT AT THE LEFT REAR SILL / WHEEL ARCH AREA.
THERE IS A PIECE OF CHROME MISSING FROM THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THERE ARE A FEW INTERIOR PIECES THAT NEED REHABBING.

IN 2014 BOTH CYLINDER HEADS WERE REMOVED TO REPLACE ALL OF THE VALVE SEATS WITH NEW HARDENED ONES. AT THAT TIME ALL OF THE GUIDES AND VALVES WERE REPLACED, THE HEADS WERE SURFACED AND NEW HEAD GASKETS WERE INSTALLED. THE CARBS WERE REBUILT, & ALL NEW HOSES, CLAMPS, BELTS & TUNEUP PARTS WERE INSTALLED

THE ENGINE RUNS WELL AND THE ENGINE BAY IS FAIRLY TIDY. THE CONVERTIBLE TOP APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL, THE CHROME WIRE WHEELS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE & THE MICHELIN TIRES HAVE PLENTY OF THREAD ON THEM. THE CHROME IS COMPLETE BUT SHOWING ITS AGE BUT NO RUST . THE AC IS IN-OPERABLE AT THIS TIME, BUT IT IS ALL PRESENT.
THE RADIO SURROUND IS IN THE CAR BUT NOT INSTALLED.

THE CAR WAS BOUGHT FROM A FRIEND AND WAS IN REASONABLY GOOD CONDITION WHEN PURCHASED WITH MANY RECEIPTS FOR NORMAL SERVICE.

IT HAS NOT HAD THAT MANY MILES UNDER THE PRESENT OWNERSHIP AS IT IS A FOURTH CAR AND HAS ONLY BEEN USED IN FAIR WEATHER . WHEN NOT IN USE IT RESIDES IN A FITTING GARAGE OUT OF THE ELEMENTS.

IT IS REGISTERED & INSPECTED FOR CURRENT ROAD USE

THIS CAR IS FUN TO DRIVE & EVEN THOUGH IT HAS SOME NEEDS IT DOES DELIVER A SPIRITED RIDE WITH WIND IN YOUR HAIR & A GROWL IN THE AIR WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR.

DRIVE IT AS IS OR TIDY IT UP YOU MAKE THE CALL THESE CARS ARE APPRECIATING IN VALUE AND GETTING ONE AT A DECENT PRICE LEAVES ROOM FOR ADDING YOUR OWN PERSONAL TOUCH. YOU CAN EVEN TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL AND MAKE IT YOUR SUPER SPECIAL V12 E ROADSTER

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
