Car offered at:
www.thecarnut.com/Jag74Greensand.html

Sellers description:
VIN: UE1S24602
Odometer: 26,300 original miles

I have been collecting Jaguar e-type for over 30 years and rarely have I had an e-type that has me this excited. The car only has 26K original
miles. The color combination of Greensand with green interior is original and very rare. I've owned many e-type in the traditional colors (red, silver, BRG, white, etc) and it is refreshing seeing one in a color that makes it stand out in the crowd. The paint is mostly original with the exception of the bonnet which was repainted some time ago. The interior was redone within the last 3 years to very high standards. Chrome, glass, wire wheels and tires are excellent. Black soft top is in excellent condition. Includes the rare removable hardtop. To top it off the car has the manual gearbox instead of the slush box.

This is an unmolested e-type that has been very well maintained. Some sensible upgrades were done which greatly improve the car's reliability and driving pleasure.

- a more efficient aluminum radiator was installed (which keeps the car cool)
- the rear differential was changed to 2.88. This reduces the RPMs at higher speeds and makes highway driving much more pleasant
- upgraded ignition system. The original Lucas system is known to fail. This ignition looks like the original but the guts are upgraded
- Steering rack was rebuilt with better seals (they are known to leak)
- Front brake calipers replaced
- All 26 cooling hoses were recently replaced (this is a job that many people neglect to do since it is time consuming)
- Air conditioner was recently serviced with new compressor seals, dryer, etc. AC works fine.
- All five tires are practically new
- New clutch (pressure plate, disc, etc)
- New brake master and booster
- The ugly USA bumpers were replaced with the bumpers used on the European delivery cars. I just HATE those big rubber bumpers that USA delivered cars were forced to use. This car has the bumpers it was designed to use, and in my opinion looks so much cleaner. The car has bumper guards which I removed as I think it looks less cluttered without them. The bumper guards were a dealer option and many people had them installed when the cars were new. It comes with the guards in case you prefer to have them on.

The car was featured on the July/Aug 2012 cover of the Jaguar Journal magazine, a copy comes with the car. Includes the jack in the bag, tool kit, knock off hammer and tool, boot cover, owner's manual, Heritage Certificate, service receipts and service manual.

This car is one of those rare finds with just the right amount of patina yet has been recently attended and sorted out to enjoy. The type of car
where you just put the key in ..... and drive.

Not bad actually...non-number matching certificate, the two seats are not original but recovered, not really original paint because bonnet repainted as well as other areas of the car, not original radiator because chances are it overheated, the soft top doesn't look like it fits right,non-original radio...not a bad price if it sold for $69,000. To be seen if it reappears again on Ebay.

It always worries me about what else is incorrect when you mount the armrests ON THE WRONG DOORS!!!

Hi,well at least the door handles would be easy to switch back, but I don't think you can call this "original" when it clearly is a US model and has MY1971-1972 front (and rear) bumpers. Both 1973 and 1974 had different front overriders with rubber and stuff, so this is a modified car. The top and the seats are ok to me, but likely the front seats have been retrimmed. My 1S20183 has original seats and carpets (except the two floor carpets) for a comparison, although they are black so a bit hard to see well in photos. :) Cheers! Oh and of course also the hardtop was always Black!

Have a 73 OTS myself and feel it is underappreciated in the E-type world... My biggest issue is when cars are being sold and the seller touts himself as a "JAGUAR EXPERT" and there are stupid things like the armrests on the wrong doors that can be fixed in minutes but are left as is.

Its all about the MONEY!!! Liked it better when Jags were driven not colllected!

Hi Pekka, The fact of the matter is the US bumpers front and back on US models were and are aberrations. The fact they were restored to original European standard is a major positive. The 1973 treatment in front was far superior to 1974 and did not necessitate cosmetic intervention. The high gear differential modification is suspicious as is the radiator modification. At 26000 miles why change the gearing unless you are doing alot of highway miles? Are the 26000 miles documented and certified? Also my V12 has the original radiator. Doesn't overheat...why does this car need an aluminum rad? Suspicious to me.

Hi, (anonymous?)

Yup, I know all about the different bumpers etc. I had been looking at S3 for a long time before I got 1S20183. But for me it does count how these cars were when they left the factory. So many people improve them, like the rad, instead of fixing what may be wrong. The only flaws in mine was that a PO mechanic had plugged the vacuum lines, now they all work again as expected thanks to help I got from www.jag-lovers.org :)

I had 1E76372BW for 16 years....

Cheers!
