This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that was refurbished in 2019, including a repaint in silver, a reupholstered black interior, brake and suspension overhauls, rebuilds of the four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, and replacement of the water pump, fuel tank, clutch, and clutch hydraulic cylinders. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and equipped with a black convertible top, air conditioning, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, an AM/FM radio, a stainless-steel exhaust system, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ chrome knock-off wire wheels. This Series III E-Type roadster was previously sold on BaT in September 2020 and is now offered at no reserve by the selling dealer with a clean Florida title.
Previously finished in Primrose Yellow, the body was repainted silver in 2019. Additional work included replacing the soft top and boot, seals, grille, electric antenna, and headlight elements along with installing European-style bumpers and a replacement Triplex windshield.
The 15″ chrome knock-off wire wheels were installed in 2019 and are wrapped in 205/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial red-stripe tires. The brake system was overhauled in 2019, including replacement of the rotors, calipers, lines, servo, and master cylinder. The ball joints, shocks, and suspension bushings were also replaced at that time and the power steering pump was rebuilt.
The seats were reupholstered in black leather and a color-coordinated replacement dash pad, armrest, door panels, and carpets were installed during the refurbishment. Interior amenities include a digital AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning.
The wood-rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. Ancillary instruments in the center of the dash include an analog clock and gauges for battery voltage, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 features four Zenith carburetors and was reportedly overhauled in 2002. The carburetors are said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment, and the fuel tank, water pump, coolant hoses, fuel pumps and lines, thermostats, and drive belts were replaced. An electric cooling fan has been installed. The fluids were changed in June 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The clutch and hydraulic cylinders were reportedly replaced in 2019 and a stainless-steel exhaust system added.
