ebay Item # 2416099904 5/26/03
Sellers comment:
Fully restored, in early 2000, it has acquired just 4470 miles since. The paint is and the chrome is virtually perfect. There are no visible scratches or dents. This car is impeccable.

Sellers description:
This auction is for a 1974 XKE E-Type V-12 Convertible with Factory removeable hardtop. This car has only 4,250 miles since it was restored in 1998 at a cost of over $75,000. This car has Air Conditioning, Automatic Transmission, CD Player, New Interior, Flawless Paint, New Carpets, 5 new Pirelli P5 tires, perfect wheels, and a vinyl black fold down top.

Vehicle Condition
This is as perfect an XKE as you'll ever find! The paint on the body, top, and in the engine compartment is flawless. The tires are new. The interior is great! This car competed October 2nd at the JCNA Jaguar Concours in St. Louis, where it scored 99.00 points and came in third. It lost to the two cars that have been National Champions over the past 4 years, both 100 point incredibly highly detailed trailer queens. The car comes with all matching numbers, books, and history. I only have found two flaws. One is a small cut in the dash, about 3/8" and the back of the driver's seat has a couple of small cuts in the vinyl back, where it was up against the convertible top bracket. This is a very easy fix.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
