In 2007 this 1974 Jaguar Series III E-Type Roadster was brought to the Monterey Sports & Classic Car Auction presented by RM Auctions, where it had an estimated value of $60,000 - $70,000. It was offered without reserve and sold for a high bid of $49,500 including buyer's premium. It is a very original car with less than 4,000 miles on the odometer. It is finished in factory white paint, has the original tires and exhaust, and powered by the legendary V12 Jaguar engine. The interior is tan and the soft top has always remained in its upright position. The original hardtop is still in the box and has only been removed from its packaging on one occasion, for a photo shoot. The original factory documentation is still affixed to the windows. This is one of the most original and well preserved, low mileage examples of the E-Type in existence.

Monterey Sports & Classic Car Auction
    17 - 18 August 2007
    Lot 289
1974 Jaguar Series III E-Type Roadster
    Sold for $49,500
    Chassis no. UE1S25720BW

The lovely E-Type displayed here is an excellent, original car with less than 4,000 miles on the odometer, believed to be from new. This truly rare specimen features factory white paint, original tires and exhaust. The trunk is home to the original spare tire and jack, complete with factory documentation. Remarkably, the soft top has always remained in its upright position, while the tan interior is as new with the starting instructions still intact on the driver's sun visor. The original hardtop is still in the box, as on the day it was delivered. It was once removed from its packaging for a photo shoot and was discovered as having the original factory documentation affixed to the windows. To add to its uniqueness, the original title, bill of sale, window sticker, and manuals accompany the car.
Without question, this 1974 Jaguar E-Type Roadster is one of the most well preserved, low mileage, original E-Types ever brought to market. For the discerning car collector who is determined to acquire the very best in British sports cars, this example offers no disappointments.
