Car converted to RHD 9not that you would know it)
Perplexed why a LHD car would have been exported to New Zealand.

Mark,
Nice car. I know of several cases of cars ordered into a country with another country's specification. In the cases I know of it was ordered by an ex pat and was intended to be repatriated to the owners home country at some point. Could just be that this one was left behind for some reason.

I have traced the original owner and learnt that he bought it LHD because the waiting list for RHD was too long! He kept it for 2 years.

I bought this car in Pennylvania (USA) in 1984. It had about 25,000 miles on it. At that time, it had the original silver blue paint, LHD, and the original dark blue interior. The speedometer read in kilometers, and the marker lights were orange, so I thought it had probably been delivered in continental Europe. There were a few German coins buried in the armrest as well. By 1995, it was starting to have rust in the right side rocker sructure. I couldn't afford a total restoration at the time, so I sold it to a broker in Chicago, who had a buyer lined up in Australia. Not sure who the "original owner" above was.

This beautifully restored Jaguar E-Type Series One 4.2 Roadster (OTS) is the pick of the E-Type range. This model retains the lovely early styling with the glassed in headlights but has many improvements over the previous 3.8 litre car. These include the 4.2 litre engine, all syncho gearbox, diaphragm clutch, alternator charging system, improved cooling system, better brakes and new reclining seats. This car is finished in the stunning combination of opalescent Gunmetal Grey with Dark Blue hide and matching Mohair soft top. Fully restored by The Cats Wiskers in QLD and fastidiously maintained since. Jaguar E-Types of this calibre seldom come onto the market, this is an opportunity not to be missed for the serious E-type enthusiast.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
