The 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1½ presented here, with chassis number 1E16646, has enjoyed limited ownership in Southern California and has recently been restored by Jaguar professionals. It has also received a full detail and service by Southern California marque specialists Classic Showcase before its debut at auction. During restoration the body was stripped and completely repainted. Brightwork was also re-chromed, and new rubber and seals were fitted. Inside, a new and proper tan interior was installed. Mechanical systems and instruments were thoroughly gone through, and a new wire loom was installed. Final touches include a new exhaust system and new battery as well as new chrome wire wheels and tires.
The beautiful ascot fawn body and matching fawn top and boot cover is enhanced by the stunning chrome work, which includes new front and rear nurf bars, wing windows and a luggage rack for the avid adventurer. The interior of this '68 E-Type looks equally gorgeous with its tan leather seat and trim. Original warranty information documenting the purchase date and location along with the books and receipts will accompany the sale. The vendor reports the E-Type runs very well and presents just as well cosmetically.
