Sellers comment:
This 1968 XKE has the pedigree to prove it’s excellence by being named
Jaguar Club of North Americas (JCNA) 2001 3rd place National Driven Division Champion with 9.92267 points.
The JCNA February 2001 magazine with this documentation goes with the sale of this car.
Since taking 3rd in the nation the car has been fully maintained and driven minimally due to age and health of the owners.
The Jaguar’s original owner was a Playboy Bunny from Chicago. The car was neglected prior to being purchased by Queen City Auto Rebuild of Seattle in 1972. The car was kept in a warm, dry building. The owner had the intention of restoring the car when he retired. Instead it was sold to us in August of 1987. The car was a basket case - everything needed repair or replacing. At the time of purchase, the car had 39,500 miles on the engine. We couldn’t even determine the original color.
We rebuilt the car during 1988 and was first entered into JCNA competition in 1989 winning 2nd place at the Concours d‘ Elegance in Driver’s class.
The trophies shown are for validation only they are NOT part of the sale. They may be viewed at the home of the cars current owner.
Included with the car:
All standard Jaguar tools - the complete set
Operation, Maintenance & Service Handbook for Jaguar 4.2 Litre ‘E’ Type Series II which is in pristine condition and has been kept under lock and key. There is a second same manual in slightly tattered condition kept with the car.
Tauno cover which covers the vinyl top when down.
JCNA February 2001 issue
Features of this car:
Two cooling fans
Redesigned exhaust pipes to eliminate burned bumper paint on the too short original exhaust pipes. This is a standard problem and fix for 1968 XKE’s and is not point penalized in competition. The work was done by XKS-Unlimited of California
Wheel cylinders were reconditioned and the walls are rustproof.
4.2 litre twin overhead cams
Chrome wheels are stainless steel chrome plated to prevent rust and breakage of spokes.
Leather seats and interior is new by BAS of Canada
Radio and cassette by Realistic
