Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar XKE Convertible. This really is a stunning car. It stands out wherever you park it. It is in great condition considering the age. This is a complete numbers matching car. It starts right up and runs good. It is fully drivable right now but the brakes are not the best. The manual transmission and clutch shift just like they should. We have put about 50 miles on it in the last couple weeks. Before that it was sitting for over 10 years. Pretty much all mechanicals work as they should. It will still need some tinkering time to get it ready to drive for any long distance.
The exterior is in good condition. The carmen red paint shines like crazy. The sun hits it and it just lights up. The paint is not perfect though. There are some rust spots coming up on the doors, there are also some marks (oxidation) on the rear deck lid and hood. The paint looks great for a driver but it is not show quality. The chrome is all in great condition. The chrome spoke wheels are in excellent shape. The chrome moldings and luggage rack are really nice. The red line tires match the look perfectly. The black convertible top is in great condition. There is one tear in the top of the passenger side that is about an inch long. If you want something that will get attention this is it!
The interior is in need of some work. It is fully functional and usable but it doesn't look great. The seats are in rough condition. They both have cuts and marks from dry rot. The rest of the interior is in ok condition. Every panel appears to be there but they are old. The floor inside has rust and the headliner is in bad condition. The original wood steering wheel is in good condition. You can buy a complete factory replacement interior for less than $4k. New interior and convertible top boot would make this car really nice. It is fully drivable the way it is now though.
