If containership won't sink in the middle of Atlantic we will start restoration in 6 weeks... everything in factory defaults. I'll upload some pictures after first stage (sand blasting). I will appreciate any details about history of this vehicle and its owners. Thanks.

Whoa! I admire your braveness. Yes, you can have a nice restoration, it seems to be an unspoiled example, S 1.5 FHC with A/C can be very enjoyable car once finished. The body seems very, very challenging. I'm almost sure I'd get a new tub from MR. Great project to follow, thanks for sharing! Cheers!

Yeah, body work will be a challenge for sure... I'm prepared :). UK with a spare parts is nearby. Also think about downgrade to 3 carbs but it won't be original then. I'm not sure if AC is usefull... it used Freon. The target is to restore this pale primerose to it's original LHD US delivery spec. Still appreciate any info about it's previous owners by my private email. Cheers!

Hi Alex,

In about eight weeks we will start restoration...sandblasting and body rebuild.

For how long have you been the owner of 1E34884? Don't you know to which State it was delivered for first owner?

Thanks.

Hi Martin,
I am the owner of 1E34884 today, I bought this car last year from a dealer. This car was delivered to the state Nevada.I wrote the history of my car on the the side of 1E34884.Amazing is that the first owner of my car has the same birthday as the car was built. I think he managed it directly with Jaguar to get a car built on 7.of November.
I have started to dismantle the whole car and to start the restoration.
cheers

Hi Martin, yes, they used R12 those days, but there are all kinds of modern substitutes that work incredibly well, even if some say that the old stuff was better. I have a/c in 2J50041DN and it works really well for it's age, I mean with five people in the car by the Adriatic sea (Italy, Slovenia and Croatia). Last year we managed with four people and 1E76372BW in Saint-Tropez, Nice etc. no a/c but it was hot! :) Back to Switzerland and it was all cool again! Cheers! (I'd rebuild the a/c if it was there from the factory, you may love it on some hot day, a closed E-type can get VERY hot ;)

Hi Pekka,

Amazing... I did similar route this summer but with modern Honda ;). AC is a must. 1E35320 is in the middle of Atlantic now but in three weeks it should be sanded.

Alex, Ihave heritage certificate and also think about restoration to factory condition... the only problem is a color... Pale Primerose Yellow - very popular in1968 but nowdays...

Hi Martin,
I am not shure at this moment what colour I want to use; I have seen last year at the" Essen Techno Classica" a series 1,5 Etype in gunmetal .
It looks fantastic!
