Current bid $15,000 reserve not met, 2 bids, 6 days left in auction. 145k miles.
Sellers description:
1968 Jaguar E-type, series 1.5, 4.2 Liter Coupe. It is a two owner, one family car. My father was the original owner and sold it to me 25 years ago. The car has been in California since it was new. It is a gorgeous series 1.5 that is in very good condition both mechanically and bodywise. During my tenure as owner, I have driven it lightly for recreation only. The interior is black and is immaculate. Sheepskin covers have covered the seats and center console for over twenty five years. The exterior was taken to bare metal and resprayed with Imron Polyurethane Enamel in 1977. This was the best paint money could buy at the time and it still retains its luster today. The paint has several dings and scratches, however, and there is a minor dent in the back behind the left rear bumper overrider, ( see pic ). I am not aware of any body rust whatsoever. The engine is very good. It and the transmission received a complete overhaul at 123,650 miles. This included new bearings, pistons, rings, valves, springs, clutch, and throw-out bearing. It runs very good and there is no oil consumption or exhaust smoke. The engine number is 7E17283-9. The air conditioning has not worked for some time and the belt that runs it was removed before I bought it. It will need some attention, ( or not, I never missed it ). During the last two years she has received a new clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, an entirely new stainless steel exhaust system and new Vredstein tires, ( they work great ). The wire wheels are in good shape, as are the chrome trim pieces throughout. The original rubber holding the trim pieces surrounding the rear window have perished and the trim is working loose. Included with the car is the original jack, knock-off hub removal fitting and mallet, spare rim and tire and a few Jag operating and maintenance manuals. All in all, this is an exceptionally well maintained car and with minor work and expense, could be truly outstanding.

I aquired this car from the original owner's son on 10/3/07. An original California black plate car, it came with complete documentation since new.
