This extremely attractive and relatively rare Series 1½ model presents as an honest and straight car. It has been owned by an engineer for much of its time in the UK and a full restoration has taken place during that time. It was originally delivered to the US as a lefthand drive car but, in 1990, was imported and converted to righthand drive. It has had a detailed restoration as noted in the very extensive history file with a colour change from pale gold to its current resplendent signal red. The floor pans are sound and the quality of the paint is good throughout. The chrome wire-wheels and tyres are also in good order and it benefits from a stainless steel exhaust. The interior has been renovated/replaced and presents in a used but good condition throughout. It also benefits from a few modern touches such as iPod connectivity and a modern Becker stereo. The car starts on the button, shows no smoke and settles quickly to an even tick-over. This most elegant example of Jaguars flagship sporting tourer is well-priced, carries a strong history and presents in good order from top to toe.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
