Sellers description:
Just Arrived! Do you like the covered headlamp look of a series 1 E-type but your budget doesn't go north into the usual six figure prices of series 1 cars? You can have that look and a modest price with this E-type series 2 that's been retrofitted with the classic bonnet of the earlier cars. We'll be posting more photos soon including the underside but this is a solid car with a sound body. Mechanical? Well, we just drove this car from Wichita, Kansas to St. Louis, MO, a distance of 450 miles without a hiccup the entire trip. Solid, reliable, roadworthy E-type roadsters don't often come along at this price.

Seller's description:
1969 Jaguar XKE Series II Open Two-seater
Four-speed manual transmission
White exterior with white folding canvas top
Black interior
Wire wheels and rear luggage rack
Matching number engine 7R6654-9
Do you like the covered headlamp look of a Series 1 E-type but your budget doesn't go north into the usual six figure prices of Series 1 cars? You can have that look with this E-type Series 2 that's been retrofitted with the classic covered headlight bonnet of the earlier cars.
This example was made in Jaguar’s Coventry, England factory and currently dressed in Old English White with a white folding canvas top. The car’s paint and trim are in overall good condition while the top is in good, original order. The bodywork is straight and the chrome bumpers fit tightly to the body and the engine bay is tidy. It appears the original paint finish was an opulent silver as evidenced by the central drop down fuse door.
This big cat rolls on Uniroyal Tiger Paw radials, size 205/70R15 at every corner and each tire is mounted to a chrome wire wheel. All tires and wheels look good. This E-type has a matching engine to its data plate. We have no history as to when or why the series 1, covered headlight bonnet was added. It is in good condition with chips around the edge where it meets the body.
The black seats are in satisfactory condition, along with matching carpeting. A large, three-spoke steering wheel faces the driver. The wheel, dash and inner doors are all in good, original shape. The center console and console-mounted shifter complete the interior and shows some age. This car is a very nice driver quality car with a solid under-body, under pinnings, floors and rockers.
The engine is easily identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers to a more industrial "ribbed" appearance. It was de-tuned in the US with twin two-barrel Strombergs with larger valve clearances replacing the former triple carburetors.
If this notion of owning a classic Jaguar won’t go away, you should visit MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check out this open two-seater that looks like an earlier XK-E in front.
