Ned, looks like a good start to a project. Love to see cars like this saved...and the hard top is a valuable artifact!

New owner here - no stranger to British sports cars. Car is currently in with a Jag repair specialist getting new floors and outer sills (to replace the 3 that are already laid on top of each other). It will also have repairs to the rear floor bulkhead.

Trunk floor repairs and work on the hood is also needed, but they should last OK until next winter.

My plan is to rolling resto it to a good solid driver status, so the tires can be driven off it.

    Will update with pictures later.

Over the 2 winters since buying the car, I have had the sills, main floors, boot floor and lower quarters professionally repaired so they are finally structurally sound and safe. While that was happening I overhauled the front brakes and suspension during the first winter and completely stripped down the IRS cage and rear brakes this last winter. The only surprise so far was a diff that started to whine, so I changed it out for another one that I completely overhauled. I also had the car repainted so it finally looks better close up. I am thoroughly enjoying driving it as much as possible.

I have added some more pictures.

    Ebay item 5/26/15

Current bid US $30,101 reserve not met 36 bids 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
The car has been extensively worked on during the last 4 years:

    - Floors, sills and trunk floor replaced by one of the top E-type restoration shop's on the East coast.

    - IRS overhauled as necessary and the 3.54 differential swapped out to a 3.31 for more relaxed cruising while still maintaining good acceleration.

    - Drive shaft UJ's replaced.

    - All wheel bearings replaced.

    - Front suspension overhauled as necessary.

    - Steering rack and column both re-bushed and mounts replaced.

    - New brake system throughout (Master Cylinder, Servo, stainless steel caliper pistons, rotors, pads, pipes and flex hoses). Handbrake pads replaced.

    - Custom EDIS and Megajolt installed. This includes an ignition timing curve for the Jag 4.2 engine. Completely reversible back to a stock distributor. One of the best mods you can do to the car IMO.

    - The carbs have been worked on, including a well known adjustable jet modification, which makes tuning much easier.

    - Heater pipes (behind the bulkhead) replaced with stainless steel ones. An awful job that won't have to be done again.

    - Repainted; not original color or concours quality, but I think that it is good for a driver car.

    - New Dayton 6" chrome wire wheels and new tires about 2 years ago.

    - Mazda Miata seats, which are completely reversible back to the originals, which I still have and will include in the sale.

    - The soft top is about 4 years old, but it needs adjusting, along with the door windows, to make it fit properly. It has a cover for when it is stowed.

    - A good condition hardtop is also included in the sale.

    - Also included is the very rare passenger footwell board that gave the passenger something to put his/her feet against. These are normally long lost.

    - Lots of other minor work as well.

In the 4 years that I have owned the car, it has never been driven in the rain or on salted roads.

The car is registered as a 1971; perhaps it was a dealer's demonstrator when new?

A previous owner replaced at least some of the front frame members with ones from a donor car. The engine was also replaced with one I have been told is from a later Jaguar model that used a big valve head.

You will see that the rear of the car has had some of the bright trim removed. That was a personal preference, but I will include the original polished strip that goes across the back as well as the very rare chrome finishers that fit on the side of the rear light housings.
