Sellers description:
This car is an older restoration that I have owned for almost ten years. (Restoration photo album comes with the car.) It is a trophy winner, including in Jaguar Clubs of North America sanctioned driven class concourses. (See pics of trophies, plates & plaques, which come with the car.) Last outing in 2004 before I got tired of points off for fingerprints in the chrome, etc., car scored 9.905 out of a possible 10.000 and came in second.

Very nice, like new leather seats, carpets, etc. Everything works, down to and including the clock! Everything is correct for the car, including the seat belts, except for the radio. (I have a correct period radio that does not work and has never been installed.) Includes correct Series II E-Type tool kit and jack. Original correct steering wheel and shift knob come with the car. Odometer shows around 92,305 miles, but I have no way of knowing if this is actual mileage or not on a 41 year old car that I have owned for the last nine years.

Wire wheels are correct pattern but stainless steel tubeless!! Tires are Michelin XVS made in the United Kingdom size 185HR15. Pictures show eared knockoffs, but correct for that year knockoffs and required bronze knockoff tool are included.

Beautiful engine bay with earlier polished cam covers, new manufacture (by Burlen in England) triple 2 inch SU carburettors, trumpets and manifold,. (Correct, but lame, twin Stromberg carbs and manifold, and correct cam covers come with the car.) Engine is equipped with a trouble free electronic ignition installed into the original distributor. Exhaust system consists of stainless steel headers and full stainless exhaust from headers back. Original cast iron headers come with the car.

Documentation includes Jaguar Heritage certificate of authenticity, owners manual, factory and aftermarket shop manuals and parts list.

Too numerous to list period and new E-Type documentation, including an original set of the press release materials for the 1961 introduction of the first E-Type come with the car.

Many spares, including a new gas tank, are included.

So, what are the negatives? A few cracks in the bonnet paint, as shown in the pic, engine could use a tuneup since car hasn't been driven much in the last few years, and on occasion the heater fan emits a screeching sound instead of running smoothly. Otherwise, the car starts, runs, and drives beautifully. An absolute pleasure to motor around in on a bright sunny day, and can still acquit itself well in the occasional car show or concourse.

This is a no reserve auction.

Sellers description:
restored 1970 E-Type. I owned an XKE back in 1968. I suppose the triple SU's professionally fitted to this one or the manifold back exhaust system or the electronic ignition make this car drive so right. Countless hours have gone into the restoration of this magnificent, timeless, Classic roadster. This XKE has had a total restoration which was finished around 2002 with about 87,000 miles on the clock. The restoration consisted of completly disassembling the entire car, replacing worn parts and refurbishing many of the original parts and reassembling the vehicle again.

The original matching numbers engine was torn down to the block and rebuilt from the ground up. New Tri SU carbs manufactured by Burlen are put in place of the dual Strombergs. A brand new Electronic Ignition system was put in place of the points for drivablity and performance, as well as a brand new exhaust system from the headers back. The Valve covers were also replaced with series I for that ultimate polished look. New Champion Wires and Plugs were also utilized. This car runs, drives, and shifts flawlesly and has an excellent power band. I just completed a compression check and the numbers are as follows in PSI (Cold Engine):

The body panels were completly stripped and resprayed with the original Primrose yellow that it came from the factory with. The interior has been completly redone in the original black and looks excellent. All chrome has been redone and is in excellent condition. All weather stripping has been replaced and is in like new condition. All dashboard components, including gauges, switches, lights, and clock, have been refurbished and are in excellent working condition.

The chrome wheels have been well taken care of and are near new condition. Everything on this car has about 5,000 miles on it since the resoration and is in working condition, all lights, brakes, suspension, down to the windshield sprayer.

The paint is in excellent condition with no scratches, dings, or dents, The paint is a 9 out of 10. There are no rust issues with this car what so ever, and the panel fitment is also excellent.

This car comes complete with jack, original Tool kit, owners manual, Jaguar heritage Certificate, boot cover, Knock off hammer, spare, and more! We hold the title free and clear, all this roadster needs is a new home!
