Ebay item 7/5/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/survivor-jaguar-/320722013061
Current bid $31,300 reserve not met, 4 bids 3 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1970 E-Type. This car was originally purchased in England. The original owner toured the country sides and then drove to Germany. Later the car was shipped to New Orleans on a barge where he picked it up and drove to Champaign IL where it has been all of its life.

The E-type is a two owner. Both owners lived here locally. The first owner had the car for 4 years. He put approximately 34000 miles on it. Since 1974 the car has only had 9800 miles put on it. This car is a true Survivor.

I will try to describe the car as it sits. This car has not been restored. It's a survivor. You should be able to get in this car and go anywhere. I have driven it.

PAINT- It has had some touch up paint work done but does not appear to have under gone a total re paint. The paint does show its age. That's a good thing when you are looking for a car that hasn't been messed with. This car does look stunning unless you are right up on it. It's a 40 year old car that has not been restored. I have tried to take as many pictures of the flaws of the paint and interior. The inside of the car appears to be original. This E-Type does have a few door dings. Nothing real bad. I want to describe it as good as possible. I can have our paint less dent person push them out after the bidding ends. I want to leave it up to the person who wins the car to decide. (The purchaser to pay for)

Interior- The driver's seat has some cracks in the seat cover. The passenger seat is in great shape. Carpet and door panels are in great shape for a 40 year old car. The top is in great shape. It looks like it might be the original. The chrome on the car is the original from the appearance. The glass in the car looks good; the back window in the top is also in good shape.

Driveline-The underside of the car looks great. No rust issues. The pictures will show you the condition. The wheels I was told were the original. They are in great shape. I have driven the car and it's tight. The car starts right up. The choke does work and the car idles good. The dual exhaust sounds great. The Engine has twin Stromberg's. I'm really impressed on how strong this car runs and handles. I was told that all of the maintenance was done locally at a shop here in town since the car was new. The car does come with extra weather strips and some gaskets that were purchased over the years. I do have what I would call a Protector Plate that was issued to the original owner that goes with the car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
