This 1970 Jaguar XKE is a Series II roadster that was built on May 20, 1970 and distributed to Canada via British Motor Holdings. The car was repainted red during a refurbishment carried out in the late 2000s, and it was brought to the US from Canada by the seller in 2021. Power is supplied by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes 15″ knock-off wire wheels, front disc brakes, dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, a black soft top, and a push-button radio. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in 2022 and the brake master cylinder replaced in 2023. This XKE Series II is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, a service manual, tools, a spare steering wheel, refurbishment photos, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Finished from the factory in Ascot Fawn, the car was dissembled, mounted to a rotisserie, stripped to bare metal, and repainted red during the aforementioned refurbishment, following the completion of body repairs. Exterior details include a black soft top, a louvered forward-hinged hood, dual side mirrors, chrome bumpers with overriders, and twin polished exhaust outlets. The seller states paint correction has been performed on the left-front fender while the battery tray, driver-side floor, and the area beneath the fuel filter assembly have been partially repainted to rectify damage from fluid leaks.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Hankook Kinergy PT tires that show 2020 production date codes. A spare wheel fitted with a 135-series Michelin tire is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The brake master cylinder is stated to have been replaced in March 2023 per the seller.

The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in black leather and fitted with lap belts. Additional appointments include manual-crank windows, a heater, a leather shift knob, Jaguar-branded floor mats, an analog clock, and a push-button radio.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer, while supplemental gauges are housed in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 14k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 4.2-liter inline-six is equipped with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. The valve cover gaskets were replaced in March 2023, while the fuel filter assembly was replaced in June 2023, per the seller.

Block stamping 7R100529 is listed on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate as the engine number.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch slave cylinder was replaced in December 2022.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists a manufacture date of May 20, 1970, along with factory colors and serial numbers. Manufacturer’s literature, a service manual, tools, a spare steering wheel, and a service record from 2022 are also included in the sale.

The South Carolina title carries an “Exempt” brand.
