69' FHC. Factory air. Needs complete resto. Engine runs well however. Compression is within specs. Trans seems solid as well. Carrier bearing out in rear and frame rails cracked so not any kind of driver. Have a new tank and all related parts. Significant rust appears limited to pans and X-member. Rockers, tunnel and boot look good. Primrose w/black. Mostly complete. Great project shows 67K on odom. Last reg. in 86'.Seattle. $11K OBO
The history of the car from 1980 on. It was
purchased by a guy named Richard, a Rolls mechanic in 1980 in L.A.upon his arrival from England. He used it as a driver until he moved to Seattle in 1986. He left the car in L.A. for 13-14 years in a garage. In 1999 or
so he went down to L.A. and got it running and drove it to Seattle. It was then
parked in his sisters garage for several years. It was then sold to a friend of mine who parked it outside for a couple years. Hense the floor pans and the lack of other rust I suppose. I bought it from him a couple years ago planning on doing it when I finished my current projects.
It is a good project car if you approach it as you would most other old Jags. It's going to need to be completly gone thru. This one appears to need far less than most in terms of rust repair. As mentioned the motor and
trans appear solid but I would tear it down and at least do rings and a hone and replace all the (mostly) leaking gasketsIt has obviously been driven hard and looks to have hit a curb hard enough to drive a wheel into the frame. Both sides are cracked as is normal and need to be replaced anyway. The
suspension was repaired I assume. It is only missing a couple pcs. of trim that I can see. It does have a series on drivers door and the passenger door needs a re-skin. The drivers side quarter window is plexiglass but the
frame is good. Smog equipment and A.C. compressor are missing as well. Shift knob
is gone but the wheel and horn button are intact. And so it goes. I should add that I doubt the motor is original based on my inability to find the numbers where they should be. The head has been done and has the keepers in it so I assume it to be a late model engine but I am not an exspert by
any means. Someone said the shocks look to be the originals, at least I think it was the shocks. I do suspect the mileage is correct at 67K.
