Lot 53 at Brightwells of Leominster sale of classic and vintage cars on 17 May 2017. Not sold. Catalogue description below. The URL is
www.brightwells.com/classic-motoring/general-information/classic-vintage-past-re ...

One of three Series 2 Jaguar E Type coupes in our sale today, this 1969 example has recently returned to these shores following a life spent in the hot California sunshine - hence the good state of presentation today.

The interior appears to be complete but will obviously require extensive refurbishment. The chrome wire wheels are in decent order but the tyres will need to be replaced due to age. Under the bonnet the engine appears to be oil leak free and we are told that it turns easily and has compression, although no attempt has been made to start it.

Supplied with a NOVA reference to show that all duties have been paid, it also has a US certificate of title so getting it UK registered should be no more than a bureaucratic exercise with the requisite DVLA form once it has secured a new MoT.

Easily converted to RHD if desired using a kit of parts readily available from specialists such as SNG Barrett, this is an excellent base for a straight forward restoration project that should amply reward the remedial works required.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
