*Very original condition
*Matching number example
*California car since new
*Same ownership since 1986
This matching-number example was distributed by Charles H. Hornburg, Jr and sold through dealer Burbank Imports located in Burbank, CA, which specialized in Jaguar, Triumph, Rover and Renault. As shown on the original sticker of the car, it was offered with various options like Chrome Wire Wheels, Tinted Glass or Radio AM/FM, from which the manual is still in the files.
From the first service record – the 1,000 mile service – dating back to May 20th 1970, and Service Passport, we understand that the first owner was a certain Mr. Morgan. The next set of invoices from year 1972, all the way until about 1980s indicate ownership by a certain Mr. Van Loon.
From the pink slip, we understand that the car was acquired by its late owner in 1985. This South-California car was kept in its original condition and does not seem to show any sign of past restoration, which - assorted to its various historical documents and manuals - gives it a real time capsule feeling.
Accompanying the car are the invoices dating back to 1970 until the mid-80s as well as the original maintenance handbook, Service passport, original sticker price, and various literature.
The car is a great project for restoration or preservation whatever its new keeper desires!
