For sale on eBay UK

www.ebay.co.uk/itm/E-TYPE-1970-NO-RUST-NEVER-WELDED-POSSIBLE-CONCOURSE-ORIGINAL- ...

E TYPE 1970 NO RUST NEVER WELDED POSSIBLE CONCOURSE ORIGINAL CAR OUTSTANDING

HERE WE HAVE POSSIBLY THE BEST UNRESTORED E TYPE AVAILABLE, GREAT POTENTIAL TO MAKE CONCOURSE AS ITS NEVER BEEN WELDED AND DOESN'T NEED ANY, IT WAS IMPORTED FROM SUNNY FLORIDA (TREASURE ISLAND) IN THE LAST FEW YEARS AFTER BEING STORED IN A DRY STORAGE UNIT FOR MANY YEARS AFTER ITS OWNER PASSED AWAY AND IT WAS INHERITED BY HIS SON. IT WAS EVENTUALLY AFTER YEARS OF NEGOTIATING PURCHASED BY A CHAP WHO LIVES 6 MONTHS THERE AND 6 HERE, IT WAS SHIPPED TO THE UK AND IS FULLY UK REGISTERED.

IT HAS STOOD FOR A WHILE (IN A HEATED GARAGE) SO REQUIRES RECOMISSIONING, NEW BRAKE FLUID ETC, I HAVE ALREADY DONE THE OIL AND FUEL AND SHE FIRED UP THIS WEEK SOUNDING STRONG AND SMOOTH JUST AS A 42000 MILE CAR SHOULD, THE STARTER IS OCCASIONALLY STICKING AND IM SURE THERE WILL BE LOTS OF FETTLING REQUIRED BUT I HAVE MADE A START AND SHE IS SOUNDING GREAT.

BODYWORK IS FANTASTIC, THE CAR HAS NO RUST ON WHAT ARE CLEARLY ORIGINAL PANELS OTHER THAN A FEW SMALL BLISTERS STARTING TOWARDS BOTTOM OF DOORS (NONE HAVE BROKEN PAINT SURFACE), THATS IT UNDER OVER IN AND OUT THERE IS NO MORE RUST, THIS MUST BE VIRTUALLY UNHEARD OF ON AN UNRESTORED E TYPE, IT APPEARS TO HAVE FAIRLY RECENTLY HAD A FRESHEN UP TO THE PAINTWORK (BEING RED AND IN FLORIDA IT WOULD HAVE FADED), HOWEVER, SOME TOE RAG TRIED TO BREAK IN TO IT AND CHIPPED THE BEAUTIFUL PAINTWORK ON THE EDGE OF THE BONNET, YOU CAN SEE THIS IN THE PICTURES, THE DARK AREA OF PAINT ON THE WING IS THANKS TO OUR LOCAL MOTOR FACTORS PROVIDING ME WITH A VERY EXPENSIVE CAN OF COLOUR MATCHED PAINT SO I COULD TRY TO REPAIR THE CHIPS BUT UNFORTUNATELY IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN COLOUR MATCHED TO SOMEBODY ELSE'S CAR!, VERY FRUSTRATING WITH AN EMBARASSING END RESULT BUT IT REALLY IS NO MORE SINISTER THAN THAT, I THINK IN ALL HONESTY THE BONNET WILL NEED REPAINTING WHICH IS A REAL SHAME AS IT IS SO SMALL AN AREA THAT WAS CHIPPED. FLOORPANS, BOOT, UNDER BONNET, BULKHEAD AND BONNET ARE ALL TOTALLY FREE FROM COROSSION.

INTERIOR IS TIDY HAVING BEEN RETRIMMED IN PAST AND IS CERTAINLY USEABLE AS IS BUT COULD BE IMPROVED AS ITS DONE TO A STANDARD SO TO SPEAK AND WOULD BENEFIT FROM MINOR DETAILING BUT ALL IN ALL NOT A BAD PLACE TO BE.

EXHAUST AND TYRES ALONG WITH FUEL PUMP, LENSES, COIL, STARTER, AND MANY OTHER PARTS ARE NEW, PLUS CARBS HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY REBUILT WITH NEW INTERNALS BY OUR LOCAL GARAGE.

I READ RECENTLY ABOUT A CAR BEING SOLD WITH ITS ORIGINAL METAL TAG ID WHICH HE STATED HE HAD IN THE GLOVE BOX AND HAD ONLY EVER SEEN ONE IN A BOOK, OUR CAR STILL CARRIES IT IN ITS ORIGINAL LOCATION ON THE WINDSCREEN FRAME, THIS MEANS LITTLE TO ME BUT MAY BE VERY SIGNIFICANT TO ANYBODY WISHING TO RESTORE THIS CAR TO CONCOURS, ALSO BEAR IN MIND THAT ONCE A CAR HAS BEEN WELDED IT SERIOUSLY AFFECTS ITS ABILITY TO BECOME TRULY CONCOURS SO IF THATS YOUR THING THEN THIS CAR IS AS GOOD AS IT GETS AS A STARTING POINT.

CHROME WIRE WHEELS ARE ALL GOOD AND RING TRUE WITH NO DEAD SPOKES, FEW SPARES COME WITH CAR NOTHING IS MISSING FROM CAR BUT HEATER UNIT NEEDS REFITTING AND RUBBER BOOTS ON STEERING NEED REPLACING BUT NEW ONES SUPPLIED.

SO TO SUMMARIZE THE CAR NEEDS LIGHT RECOMISSIONING, IT STARTS BUT HASNT BEEN DRIVEN BY ME AS BRAKES NEED CHECKING OVER FIRST, CANT SEE MUCH OTHER THAN RUBBER BOOTS ON STEERING AS MENTIONED, BRAKE BLEED, LIGHT BULBS AND NEW UK HEADLIGHTS PLUS GENERAL FETTLING TO GET MOT'D THEN DRIVE AS IS OR GO THE WHOLE HOG AND MAKE CONCOURS

OTHER INTERESTING THINGS ON THE CAR ARE THAT IT SPORTS AN OLD PERIOD RAC BADGE BUT ALSO AND POSSIBLY MORE SIGNIFICANTLY IT BEARS A MONTE CARLO RALLY BADGE WHICH LOOKING AT THE CONDITION AND APPEARANCE APPEARS TO BE ORIGINAL AND PERIOD ALSO, I HAVE NOT DONE ANY INVESTIGATION INTO THIS BUT IF IT HAS BEEN AN ENTRANT THEN THIS ADDS TO THE HISTORY QUITE SIGNIFICANTLY AND POSSIBLY ALSO THE VALUE.

CAR WAS PURCHASED RECENTLY BUT CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCES FORCES GENUINE SALE, CHECK MY FEEDBACK, ALWAYS HONEST DESCRIPTIONS AND FEEL FREE TO CALL ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS ON 01969 368013 OR 07771 860824

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
