Sellers comment:
Vehicle Description
I have seen and bought and sold a lot of cars in my life, but this one is a true privelege to offer.

Our great friend, Mr. Dave Roberts, was a passionate car collector, vintage racer and concours champion, winning the JCNA National Annual award for the best XK 120 in 1999. This E Type was Dave's "local" car, that he drove, showed at club concours events and generally enjoyed for some years. Sadly, Dave passed away last year, and I am selling this car on behalf of family and friends.

It is a beautifully maintained, delightfully modiified, club concours level E Tupe, and I doubt a better Series 2 driver exists. Dark green, excellent quality paint, all new rubbers, a near fresh BAS Jaguar interior installed locally by BAS. (they claim to be the best Jaguar interior people around, and charge the most, to prove it) Interior is wonderfull, new top to match as well. Mechanically the car is superb, having had a full engine rebuild, with upgraded connecting rods etc, by a respected local shop, with a conversion to the Series 1 triple SU carburetors, a set of headers, and an Ansa exhaust, done at the same time. Very little mileage since. The Ansa gives the car a deep, snarly exhaust note which is surely audible but not instrusive, and the car goes like a very good Series 1 E Type. Brakes gearbox, and the rest are superb. The original steering wheel and horn button go with the car.

As a rule I try to be careful about raving about cars for sale, but I don't feel the need to be careful here: THIS IS A GREAT CAR!

Car returns to ebay 7/24/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $10,000.00 (Reserve not met), 1 bid, 6 days left in auction. Car now located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Sellers description:
Built in August 1968, this car was first registered in March 1969 in British Columbia, where it spent its life. It was one of the early Series 2 cars, so it's more driveable than the Series 1 and 1 1/2's. The car has been very well maintained and was restored a few years ago - it has a new BAS interior , new Convertible top and a new Tonneau cover. Mechanically, the car is perfect - it was owned by a noted West Coast racer as his "daily driver" so has been very well maintained by people who know how to look after cars. All numbers match the build plate. The 6 cyl. engine has 150 lbs. compression on all cylinders, runs cool and has a new battery and new tyres. The wires look great and are in great condition. With only 85K miles in 37 years, this car has been adored its whole life. It has a strong engine, good gearbox, new covers and it looks great! It's a genuine car - your chance to own one of the best Roadsters around.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
