Ebay item 3/7/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $21,100, no reserve, 2 bids, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
This car was purchased at the 2003 Amelia Island Auction and is mostly original low miles example finished in British Racing Green with black interior and chrome wire wheels. It has never been restored, nor has it needed restoration. Instead it has seen good care and little life during its life. Unrestored cars such as this XKE are a delight to drive, retaining the "together" feel which even the best restoration can’t duplicate. Previously owned by an experience collector this Jaguar has benefitted from an updated interior and has endured a meticulous detail to detail in its maintenance and presentation.
In a very positive sense, this car represents a true survivor. Over the years, the car has been well cared for and, while it has been used minimally, it has not been stored for extensive periods of time. Every indication is that the car has been kept in driving condition at all times.
This Jaguar is a "turn key", ready to drive car that can be enjoyed immediately. All of the major mechanical components (engine, transmission, clutch, brakes, steering, etc) function very well and the car drives beautifully. There are no major mechanical needs and the car has recently been serviced including a new fuel pump, oil service.
Cosmetically, the car is very presentable having had a very high quality paint job and the car is rust free, with excellent chrome, trim and new tires . The interior is excellent and has been refurbished including a new convertible top.
The Jaguar starts immediately even after sitting for several weeks. The car runs well and is really a pleasure to drive. The clutch engages without chatter and does not slip. The transmission shifts perfectly and there are no unusual engine, rear end or transmission noises.
The electrical system was recently inspected to insure the functionality of lights, turn signals, brake lights, and other electrical items. The knock off "wrench", jack and spare are in the trunk and the trunk floor mat is in excellent condition.
