For sale at Autstorico of Bourne End for £115,000. Seller's description below.
www.autostorico.co.uk/cars-for-sale/jaguar-e-type-4-2-series-ii-ots-roadster-rhd

The Jaguar E Type 4.2 Series II OTS Roadster (Registration DAD690G) offered here at Autostorico is finished in Signal Red with Black leather interior. Chassis no 1R9710 has covered an indicated 84,840 miles. This beautiful car has undergone an extensive restoration completed over a number of years. In around 2008 the car underwent an engine rebuild to fast road specification with Guy Broad including: new bronze valve guides, heavy duty valve springs, cam bearings and tappets. The block was re-bored to sit new AE9:1 pistons with resized and re-bushed connecting rods, new connecting rod bolts and nuts. The oil pump was replaced as were the timing chains upper and lower hydraulic tensioner and new ACL Duraglide bearings were fitted.

The car then underwent a full dynamic balance of all rotating mass components with new hardware fitted where necessary. At the same time the car received a full rebuild of its SU HD8 carburettors, new electronic kit, a lightened flywheel and 9.5AP diaphragm clutch kit were fitted. To complement the fast road specification engine, the car has been fitted with a Guy Broad 5 speed gearbox. In early 2017 the car had a full re-spray at Sussex Coachworks at a cost of over £10,000. Offered for sale with a current V5 registration document, current MoT and history file including invoices for restoration work and MoT certificates back to 1990. A truly unique opportunity to own such a stunning example of a true British classic which will certainly appreciate over time.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
