Current bid $13.5k, two bids, reserve not met, 6 days left in auction. 80k miles on the car.

Sellers comment:
This beautifully maintained 1969 model is an unbelievable example of preservation.

The 4.2L six-cylinder engine was rebuilt around 4000 miles ago. The clutch and front end were rebuilt last summer around 400 miles ago.

The glossy ebony paint is in excellent condition and virtually flawless. There is a very minor left front fender dime size ding. According to the owner, the only non-original parts would be the radio and the fuel-sending unit. Everything works with the exception of the interior clock, but who pays attention to the time when they are driving a Jaguar?

In the first few seconds behind the wheel of this beautiful XKE, you will know you made the right decision buying this extremely rare classic sports car. The current owner has invested well over $40,000, but is prepared to sacrifice at a fraction of his investment.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
