This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II roadster was acquired approximately 43 years ago by the seller, who disassembled the vehicle for refurbishment in 1997. The body was stripped and coated in primer, and the removed 4.2-liter inline-six and four-speed manual transmission are included in the sale. Additional components accompanying the vehicle include a pair of black vinyl seats, a soft top frame, front and rear bumpers, a stainless-steel exhaust system, trim pieces, suspension and brake components, various wiring components, and side windows. This XKE project is being offered in Cave Creek, Arizona with a Jaguar Production Record Trace certificate and a clean Kansas title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Regency Red, the body has been stripped and reportedly underwent rust repairs that involved replacement body panels before being coated in primer. A pair of chrome bumpers is included in the sale, along with various trim pieces, a soft top frame, boot cover, and side windows.
The interior has been fully stripped, and photos in the gallery below show interior components accompanying the vehicle, including two black vinyl-upholstered bucket seats, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, trim pieces, and Smiths instrumentation.
The 4.2-liter inline-six and four-speed manual transmission were removed from the car and are said to have been rebuilt in the 1980s. The engine reportedly turns freely by hand. The seller notes an issue with the first gear synchro in the transmission.
The engine block stamping matches the number listed on the Heritage Trust certificate.
Spare and removed parts are shown further in the gallery below, along with a handful of historical photos of the car.
The Production Record Trace certificate lists the factory colors and identification numbers as well as a completion date of July 1, 1969.
