Car to be at auction 1/22

    Auction description:

    Scottsdale 2022

Lot #721 - This Jaguar XKE Series III has a silver exterior complemented by a black interior. It is powered by a V12 engine mated to an automatic transmission with increased horsepower, smaller chrome bumperettes, full instrumentation, newly installed air conditioning components as well as a recent service. This E-Type was a one-family owned car since new. It was locally serviced and maintained by Carlsbad British Motorcars of Carlsbad, CA. Classic Showcase recently acquired the E-Type from the family and has performed numerous services and aesthetic improvements. The upholstery department completely restored the interior of the XKE, the seats received new foam and new diaphragms, and the seat covers were then reinstalled; the center console was also restored. Classic Showcase also made new door and rear hatch door panels and sourced and installed a new lower dash package tray. The rear hatch glass received a new seal, and the frame was painted while the door was off the car. The window mechanisms were lubricated and serviced, and the E-Types steering wheel was cleaned and refurbished. Some scratches and small scrapes were spot-painted followed by a wet-sanding and buffing to the car. The bonnet required cleaning, stripping, caulking, and then prime, paint and a clear coat. A servicing of the XKEs engine was performed, sorting all the electrical wiring and installing new rubber on the splash panels. There was a full service to the cars air conditioning system that included installing a new compressor, switch, evaporator, seals, evacuated, flushed the system, installed new 134-A freon, restoring cooling fans, the cowl assembly, changed fluids, filters, hoses, clamps and air filters, as well as performing a comprehensive cleanup and repaint of components. The engine and undercarriage were pressure-washed. New exhaust hangers and other miscellaneous hardware were installed. The E-Type comes complete with an owner manual and an extensive folder of receipts for previous work performed. VIN 1S70991BW
