Sold by Robert Hughes Automobiles of Weybridge in July 2021. Amended seller's description below.

This car was the subject of a meticulous rebuild in the early 1980's by renowned restorers XK Engineering. At that time superior quality parts, mainly ex-factory, were still available and replacement leather in the right grade, as trimmed when new, was on offer. Visually the has the classic early features, but is fitted with later brakes and a synchromesh gearbox. Since this car was rebuilt it has been cherished and looks, smells and feels like a 3.8 litre E Type did in the 1960's.

We acquired the car 7 years ago and commissioned ex-Coombes 1960s afficionado Ken Ball to examine the car and refresh whatever was necessary. That documentation forms part of the car's history file. Since then the car has been used carefully with regular maintenance. In preparation for returning to the market it has been sent to E Type experts, M and C Wilkinson for appraisal, renewal of perishables and a major service. Finished in Opalescent Dark Blue with Grey hide, this immaculate example comes with the assurance that the most respected E Type names have attended to its preservation over the years.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
