From correspondence. Prospective unknown was unsure whether the engine in the car was original.

Roger - that other number C22250FF is almost certainly a block casting batch number , and not an identifying number. It is usually seen just below the cylinder head on the rear right side of the block, whereas the identifying numbers are usually i. in the rear face of the front part of the head ii.on the block just above the oil filter and on later cars iii. on the rear left hand side engine to bellhousing flange

Advertised in 2017 ... This original RHD matching Numbers Jaguar E Type S1 3.8 Fixed Head Coupe was first registered in 1964 and was finished in Cream with a Black Interior.

Delivered to Henleys of London with the first owner shipping this E Type to Hong Kong, it's second owner then shipped it to Spain where it spent many years before being purchased by it's third owner who brought it back to the UK.

The fourth owner who purchased this E Type he decided to start a rebuild project which was never completed, all the parts removed are boxed and it is believed that the speedometer reading of 47,000 miles is the total mileage covered from new.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
