Information regarding Jaguar E-Type Roadster Outside Bonnet Latch:

Delivered as the third E-Type in July 1961 in Italy to Fattori & Montani,Roma,Italy. First owner: Autoimport U Fadini G de Gobbis,Verona,Italy

Information we found about the car’s history:

    - First delivery in Italy

    - Restoration in the early 1990s

    - Brooks Europe auction, 8/7/1998 Nurburgring, Germany lot #261.- Christie's auction, London, England 3/26/2001 lot #38

    - 2001 till 2011 in Spanish collection

    - In Germany from 2011

    - Restoration 2013/2014 in Germany

Purchased by a German E-type lover in 2011 from Thomas Minden GMBH. Frankfurt/MThe car was driven at that moment ca 4.400 KM after a former upgrade / restoration in Spain. In the sales agreement and valuation report of 2011 is mentioned that the car came from Spain and was part of a private collection.

The quality of that ‘restoration ‘was lower than the German owner expected and he decided to have a lot of things redone what ended up in a rather complete restoration. This ‘full’ restoration was done by a German British car specialist and is documented with receipts and Photo’s.

Around € 75.000 was spent in repairs, bare metal respray and technical work. The car was in his possession from 2011 till 2020 till he passed away.

We have a binder with several receipts from 2011 regarding maintenance and some info about the history. In 2020 a complete new interior (BAS International UK) in the correct original black color was installed and the car was detailed on several points.

    In general:

-Very rare E-type OTS Outside Bonnet Latch nr 192-Third E-Type delivered to Italy

-One of the first 200 E-Type OTS

-Restoration by German Specialist in 2013/2014

-New interior in original colour (2020)-German documents

-Good investment. OBL’s are recently sold for over 400K USD

E-Type & Sports Cars is centrally located in the Netherlands in Soest. Near by Amsterdam and Utrecht.

This 1961 Jaguar XKE is a left-hand-drive Series I roadster that was completed on July 8, 1961 and distributed in Europe through Fattori & Montani in Rome, Italy. The car underwent refurbishments in the early 1990s and in 2011, and it was acquired by the current owner in 2020. Powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission, the vehicle has been repainted in green over black leather upholstery. Features include hood louvers, flat floors, glass headlight covers, external hood latches, split chrome bumpers, chrome knock-off wire wheels, and a black soft top. This XKE is now offered in the Netherlands on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, service records, and Germany registration.

Delivered from the factory in Cream, the car underwent bodywork and a bare-metal repaint in green during a refurbishment in 2011. Features include split chrome bumpers, glass headlight covers, welded hood louvers, external hood latches, central exhaust outlets, and a black soft top and boot cover. The trunk-hinge spring and hood chrome were replaced in 2020. Blemishes in the paint are visible.

Chrome 15” wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A spare wearing a Pirelli tire is located in the trunk. Braking is through four-wheel discs.

The cabin was trimmed in black leather from the factory and was refurbished with upholstery sourced from BAS International in 2020. Textured aluminum was replaced in 2020 and trims the dashboard and center console. Equipment includes lap belts for both occupants, a push-button radio, toggle switches, and a height-adjustable rearview mirror. The radio was repaired in 2014.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel features exposed aluminum on the inner prongs and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 260-km/h speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. The five-digit odometer shows 50 kilometers (~30 miles); true mileage is unknown. The speedometer was replaced in 2021.

The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower. The camshaft gaskets were replaced in 2020, and the oil was changed and the coolant flushed in 2021. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.

The Production Record Trace Certificate from the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates. The document also notes that this particular vehicle was the third E-Type that was imported to Italy.
