Seen on eBay UK. Ad reads:
"Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Roadster 1964 largely complete for restoration. All numbers Chassis (879853), Engine, Gearbox and Body numbers match the origional chassis plate. The car was originally LHD but included in the sale price to a UK buyer a RHD steering rack and dash panels. I have the C&E 386 showing duty has been paid on this car on re-importation to the UK in 1989.
Origionally Grey with Red interior this car has great potential with the majority of the bodywork done. I think the car must have spent the majority of its life in a dry US state as the boot floor, rear wings, main floors (less footwells) and bulkhead panels are all origional. Additionally the bootlid and doors all excellent unrepaired have origional paint on the insides that re-inforces my thought that this has been a dry state car. The outer sills and bonnet have been replaced with new and the door and bonnet shut lines are good. Required now to finish the body is final panel fitment including lead loading, bumper / chrome fitment and paint.
Having gone through the car there are some parts missing. This includes the hood frame, headlamp glasses, lights, glass and some minor chrome all that are available and that you are most likely to buy new (I can source some of this trade for the buyer). As far as I can tell everything else is there. There are some new parts included such as headlamp chrome surrounds, seat frames and a set of vey nice wheels.
The chassis number of this car indicates that it is one of the first non-aluminium dash models."
