All original. Good runner. Needs exterior cosmetic work. (New rubber; re-chrome; remove dings and repaint.) No rust.

Full history of the car from delivery to the first owner in Massachusetts on 17th June 1971 to April 2017 are recorded by the second and current owner in the UK. The link is

The car had one owner in Massachusetts from 175h June 1971 to Summer 2015. Used for daily commuting from 1971 to 1975, it was used occasionally thereafter, a table showing annual mileage is in the link above. The bodywork was protected with Ziebart coating when new. During his ownership the air conditioning failed and was not repaired; the power steering was replaced with conventional rack and pinion steering. The former owner commenting 'if you need power steering you shouldn't be driving an XKE'. at the time of sale the car was in highly original condition, with matching numbers engine and gearbox. All body panels are original and there was no welding on the body. The odometer recorded 83,110 miles.

In Summer 2015 the car was imported into the United Kingdom from the United States and sold to the second owner in October 2015. The new owner recommissioned the car; the engine was rebuilt with new pistons, valves and valve springs. In addition new engine mountings, clutch, battery, stainless steel exhaust, chrome wire wheels, centre sections to front and rear bumpers, steering joints, shock absorbers, water pump and alternator were fitted. The car was completed and passed its MoT on 13th May 2016 with a recorded mileage of 83,113 miles. It was registered MCY399J with the DVLA in June 2016.

The owner uploaded further photographs of the car showing a current mileage of 85,489 miles in Spring 2019. The link is

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
