Ebay item 12/7/16
www.ebay.com/itm/1972-Jaguar-E-Type-/291964811200
Current bid US $10,100 reserve not met 3 bids 6 days left in auction, seller worldwideclassics, car now said to be in Houston, Texas, 59k miles.
Sellers description:
1972 Jaguar XKE with 4 Spd
It comes with Factory 4 speed transmission, Factory A/C and Chrome wire wheels.
It has it's original numbers matching engine.
It was sent to be restored but was put on hold for several years and was finally sold.
We put marvel mystery oil in the cylinders and it turned over easily,
We then hooked up an electric fuel pump, installed a battery and it started right up with it's original keys. It ran smooth and held 50 pounds of oil pressure after running for about 10 minutes and no leaking cabs, AMAZING!!!!!!!!
The rusted ares were mostly cut out and you can see the inner wheel house is solid as are the jacking supports.
When we got it, it was stripped to bare metal and was covered in a thin layer of surface rust.
I had it sanded down to bare metal and had a coat of etching primer sprayed then a coat of regular primer to protect it.
I've attached photos of the way we got it and during the sanding and finally in primer with a thin coat of dust after sitting for the last six months. The main rust was cut out on the drivers side rocker panel and little patches around the wheel house and you can see the areas underneath are reasonable good.
There are several other areas that will need to be addressed such as a 1 to 2 inch spot in the trunk, a three to 4 inch spot on the bonnet where the left bumper overrider would be and another spot above the lic plate light. The floors are pretty good with the exception of the area under the drivers side seat brace, that's the worst area.
It appears that practically all the exterior chrome and lights, including the eyebrows are with the car. The rear side windows and fuel tank are also there.
It came without seats but as you can see I have found the rear seat and I have the front seat frames that will come with the car.
What I notice to be missing is;
The small board that covers the fuel tank, Spare tire cover is there.
Spare tire and wheel is missing
Door panels (but the chrome at the upper part of the door panel is there) and headliner. console, radio and carpet Air cleaner housings and rear view mirror.
This car is located at: World Wide Classics; 14650A Kuykendahl, Houston, Texas 77090.
