This 1973 Jaguar XKE is a Series III roadster that was built on November 2, 1972, and is said to have undergone a refurbishment during prior ownership. Power comes from a numbers-matching 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and the car is finished in dark blue with a beige soft top over tan leather. Equipment includes air conditioning, an AM/FM cassette stereo, quad exhaust outlets, and polished knock-off wire wheels. This Series III XKE is being offered by the selling dealer in New Canaan, Connecticut with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, tools, partial service records, a repair manual, pre-purchase inspection report, and New York registration.
Factory finished in white, the car has since been repainted in dark blue, and exterior features include a beige soft top, exposed headlights, V12 badging, and quad central exhaust outlets.
Polished 15” wire wheels are secured with knock-off hubs and mounted with Dunlop white-stripe tires. The car rides on independent front and rear suspension with Koni shocks, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears. A full-size spare is found in the trunk.
The cabin was trimmed in black leather from the factory, but has since been reupholstered in tan Connolly leather with matching door panels, Wilton carpets, and a black dashboard. Amenities include an analog clock, a Sanyo AM/FM cassette stereo, air conditioning, and rocker switches for vehicle functions.
A leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just under 51k miles, though total mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 features single overhead camshafts for each cylinder bank along with quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
Engine block stamping number 7S8644LB matches the number shown on the Heritage Trust certificate and stamped on the chassis plate.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate displays the factory colors and identification numbers.
