Ebay item 1/16/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-JAGUAR-XKE-ROADSTER-V-12-SERIES-III-FLAWLESS-ORIGAN ...
Car has a buy it now price of $77,500 for 20 days.

Sellers description:
ON MY FIRST INSPECTION I WAS ABSOLUTELY SHOCKED AT THE OBVIOUS CONDITION OF THIS JAGUAR, RITE DOWN TO THE RADIO AND ORIGINAL DUNLOP SP 50 SPARE TIRE.

THIS MARK III IS AS CLOSE TO A PERFECT UNMOLESTED NUBERS MATCHING AUTOMOBILE AS YOU WILL FIND ANYWHERE. NOTICE IN THE PHOTO ON REAR SHOCKS YOU CAN SEE THE SHIPPING BRACKET THAT STILL IS ATTACHED TO THE SHOCK. THAT BRACKET WAS INSTALLED AS A HOLD-DOWN WHEN THE CAR WAS SHIPPED OVERSEAS. USUALLY THE BRACKET WAS TAKEN OFF WHEN THEN SHOCKS WERE REPLACED.

IN THE PREPARATION FOR THE SALE OF THIS CAR I GO THRU EVERYTHING AND I MEAN EVERYTHING. AFTER RAISING THE CAR ON MY LIFT, I REALIZED THE XKE WAS EVEN BETTER THAN I THOUGHT. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF SMALL ISSUES THAT WERE REPAIRED AND I AM NOW HAPPY TO SAY AT THIS TIME THE CAR IS NOT ONLY RUST FREE BUT IT DOES NOT LEAK ANYTHING. ABSOLUTELY NO OIL LEAKS.

AFTER REVIEWING THE LIST OF PARTS AND WORK THAT NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED, THE OWNER VERY WILLINGLY AGREED.

THE FOLLOWING REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED;

THE FOLLOWING IS A NOTE FROM THE THIRD AND PRESENT OWNER OF THE CAR;
I purchased this car on July 1st, 1997 at Roswell Motorsports. I had been looking for an original E-type since I moved to the United States from England in 1992.
The dealer had another E-type but it was not great. When I explained what I wanted he told me he had the exact car in a crate in Tennessee and it was a 2 owner car with 28,000 miles on it and was 100% original except one partial respray. He said the 2nd owner had it 7 years and had rarely driven it. The first owner is noted on the tire receipt book. The dealer took over 2 months to get the car and quite frankly I had forgotten about it. When he called me up to say it was on the lot I drove over and immediately fell in love with it. I drove it home in time for the July 4th holiday.
Since 1997 I have driven 1400 miles in it, that's about 100 miles per year. Those 100 miles are to small car shows in Chateau Elan, the British sports car event in Norcross and some weekend trips to the pub or to take my son for an ice-cream. It has never been out in the rain and it has been garaged 100% of the time. I clean it bi-weekly whether it leaves the garage or not.
The best part about this particular E-type is that its 100% original except for one partial respray. You can contact us for the list of renovations and parts added over the years but I have either fixed or restored what's on their or bought OEM parts from Barrett in England or Welshs in the USA. I am a car nut and no expense has been spared.
My plan is to sell this car and put the funds toward a 2012 Jaguar XKR-S.

OPTIONS INCLUDE
-5 ORIGINAL WIRE WHEELS IN OUTSTANDING CONDITION
-AIR CONDITIONING, NOW CONVERTED TO R-134a AND BLOWING COLD
-AUTOMATIC 3 speed TRANSMISSION
-LEATHER BUCKET SEATS JUST REPAIRED & RE-DYED, HEAD RESTS RE-PACKED
-POWER DISC BRAKES
-REMOTE MIRROR
-AM/FM MULTIPLEX STEREO

This V12 model here is ready to be judged at JCNA level in SURVIVOR AND UNRESTORED CLASS. It is beautifully finished in interior........

There's no indication that the car has been entered in any Jaguar Clubs of North America concours events, so the true test of the point-quality is yet to come.
Nonetheless, given the apparent thoroughness and quality of this renew, this car should be considered well bought at the advertised price. If properly maintained and driven sparingly, it should do nothing but appreciate in the future.

This is a rare opportunity to own a completely rust free example of an always garaged,never driven in the rain, virtually completely original numbers matching 1973 Jaguar XKE V12 Roadster. Driven by only three mature and careful owners with an astonishingly low original 30K miles! Although not a concours or restored example, this remains an even rarer and probably more desirable virtually all original and unabused V12 E-Type Jaguar Roadster and the perfect candidate for the Jaguar enthusiast to collect as a survivor.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
