This 1965 Jaguar XKE was taken out of daily driving in 1985 and with only a few drives since then just sat in the garage until 2014 when the present owner acquired the car with 55,918 miles showing on the odometer. He was personally involved in the meticulous restoration which took nearly 5 years. The car has been meticulously restored to its original as delivered condition. It still has the original engine, transmission and independent rear suspension. The original fasteners, clamps, brackets, accessories, wire wheels, brakes and suspension, gauges, etc. have been refurbished to original condition wherever possible. The upholstery and convertible top is all new. It is now essentially a new car as first delivered in 1965. Repainted in the original color, Opalescent Golden Sand, with light tan interior and light tan top. Engine is a 4.2 Liter (4235cc) twin overhead cams, 260 HP, backed by the all synchromesh 4 speed, independent rear suspension and 3.54:1 final drive ratio. Dunlop disc brakes with a dual master cylinder and vacuum booster, Koni shocks, rack and pinion steering, all sitting on 72 spoke 5 by 15 wire wheels. A hardtop is still with the car. The original VIN number, and data plate are in tact. The car was built in late November, 1964. A Heritage Certificate (the build sheet confirming the cars history) was obtained from the Jaguar Heritage Trust. Vehicle is located in Los Osos, Ca. Offered at $275,000 OBO.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
