The beautiful and very elegant colour Opalescent Gun Metal Grey we have combined with a dark blue leather interior and a dark blue soft-top of Sonnenland cloth. The familiar lines of this S1 E-Type look great in this colour combination! Furthermore, the car has the revised and matching numbers 4235CC engine in combination with the 4-speed manual gearbox. Car now offered at:

www.lesanciennes.com/annonce/jaguar-type-e-type-e-s1-roadster-1965-a804514

Seller's description:

JAGUAR Type E Type E S1 Roadster - 1965

185 000 €

Mileage: 34,500 km

Few cars embody the spirit of the 1960s as powerfully as the Jaguar E-Type, and this Series 1 4.2 convertible stands out as a particularly well-documented example. Assembled in 1965 and first registered in New York the following year, it remained in the hands of a single American owner for nearly forty years before moving to Europe in 2017.

Between 2018 and 2019, the car underwent a complete body-off restoration, meticulously documented with a detailed photographic report. Every aspect was addressed with care, from the bodywork and interior to the mechanical components.

Its configuration is both elegant and distinctive. Finished in Gunmetal Grey with a dark blue leather interior and matching soft top, it boasts a rare and highly sought-after combination among collectors. The characteristic elements of the Series 1 – headlights under glass, narrow taillights, toggle switches and first-generation dashboard – confirm its authenticity and original character.

Crucially, it retains its original engine, gearbox, and bodywork, all matching the chassis number—a crucial criterion for purists. The restoration file, accompanied by a complete set of photographs, further illustrates the quality of the work carried out.

Carefully maintained within a European private collection since its restoration, this Series 1 Roadster is now offered in excellent condition, combining authenticity, documented history, and a desirable configuration.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
