Sold by the Classic and Sportscar Centre of Malton in December 2025. Abbreviated seller's description below.
www.classicandsportscar.ltd.uk/jaguar-e-type-series-one-4.2-roadster/classic-car ...
This fully matching numbers E Type Series 1 4.2 Roadster was built on 21 December 1966. It was dispatched on 13 January 1967 and through Jaguar Cars, New York was supplied to its first owner, Philip Kantor Associates. An original motor vehicle certificate of title from the state of Florida confirms that in 1979 the E Type was still owned Mr Kantor and it wasn't until 2018 that the car resurfaced in the UK requiring full restoration. It was then subject to a full nut and bolt restoration by a Devon restorer and supplied in 2022 to its most recent owner upon completion. VAM719D has covered just a few hundred since restoration and is in exquisite condition.
The E Type was stripped down and mounted on a rotary jig. A new floor pan was fitted to the shell, the body was fitted with new sills, toe boards and panels behind the seats. A new transmission tunnel, rear quarter lights and boot floor were fitted, the doors were re-skinned and new space frames fitted. The shell was then injected and prepared for painting. It was completely renewed with a rebuilt engine, gearbox and differential. The carburettors were overhauled and suspension rebuilt. The radiator was re-cored and new water pump, ignition, header tank, fuel tank, stainless steel exhaust, steering rack, brakes, clutch, alternator wheels and tyres fitted.
The interior was retrimmed and a new mohair hood fitted. Photographs and a file of invoices from the restoration accompany the car. This is essentially a run in, freshly rebuilt E Type, an A1 first class restored car offering exhilarating performance.
