This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was purchased by the previous owner in 1981, and a rotisserie refurbishment was conducted between 2002 and 2012. The selling dealer acquired the car in August 2025. Powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the car is finished in British Racing Green over tan leather upholstery. Equipment includes a tan soft top, a top boot, open headlights, Dayton 15″ wire wheels, Wilwood front brakes, triple Weber 48DCOE carburetors, an aluminum radiator, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, PerTronix electronic ignition, polished rocker covers, ceramic-coated exhaust components, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and drilled-aluminum pedals. The tires were replaced and the oil was changed in October 2025. This XKE roadster is now offered in New York at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service records dating back to 1977, Jaguar Clubs of North America scoring sheets, manufacturer’s literature, a tool kit, and a North Carolina title.
The car was finished from the factory in Cream. During the aforementioned refurbishment, the following work was performed by Downs Motor Company of Snow Hill, Maryland:
Stripped paint
Sandblasted body, doors, trunk lid, and frame rails
Replaced two outer sill panels
Replaced four reinforcement panels
Replaced “picture frame” crossmember
Replaced two door skins
Replaced battery-bulkhead section
Replaced hood sections and springs
Replaced left and right trunk floorboards
Replaced aluminum stone guard and frame
Primed body in Glasurit epoxy
Painted body in nine coats of Glasurit British Racing Green
The weatherstripping, chrome trim, exterior mirror, rear lights, and soft top also were replaced during the refurbishment.
Equipment includes sealed-beam open headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, a tan top boot, bright trim, triple windshield wipers, dual exhaust outlets, and wraparound chrome bumpers. A hole in the convertible top was repaired in recent years.
Chrome-finished Dayton 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Laufenn G Fit tires measuring 215/65 that were installed in October 2025. The front brakes utilize drilled and slotted rotors and Wilwood calipers, and the rear disc brakes are positioned inboard. The suspension also was overhauled during the refurbishment and has polyurethane front bushings, heavy-duty front torsion and anti-roll bars, an adjustable reaction plate, Alden adjustable rear shock absorbers, a heavy-duty rear anti-roll bar, and an aluminum rear-suspension bracing plate. The rear bump stops have been removed. The brake fluid was flushed when the tires were replaced in preparation for the sale.
A four-page summary of the refurbishment provided by the seller is available.
The cabin was redone during the refurbishment and features reupholstered tan leather bucket seats along with color-coordinated door panels and carpeting. Dynamat Xtreme insulation has been fitted to the interior cabin and doors. Appointments include black vinyl dash trim, dashboard toggle switches, a sliding rearview mirror, a Phase Linear AM/FM stereo, lap belts, a heater, and drilled-aluminum pedals. Audio speakers have been installed but are not wired to the radio. The seller notes that the radio does not work, and the car lacks sun visors as well as a windshield-washer pump and reservoir.
Three add-on switches inside the center console control the fuel pump, while the fourth switch is intended to actuate a power antenna, which currently is not installed. Interior parts that were replaced are documented in the aforementioned summary.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located at the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 68k miles, about 20 of which were added by the selling dealer. Approximately 500 miles are said to have been accumulated since completion of the refurbishment.
The 4.2-liter inline-six was rebuilt during the refurbishment and is augmented by the following modifications:
Triple Weber 48DCOE carburetors
Weber inlet manifold
Open-element air cleaners
Electric fuel pump
Aeroquip and aluminum fuel lines
Engine-bay fuel-pressure gauge
Engine-bay disposable fuel filter
Trunk-mounted in-line fuel filter
PerTronix electronic ignition
PerTronix coil
70-amp one-wire alternator
Gear-reduction starter
Aluminum pulleys (three)
Adjustable voltage-control unit
Aluminum battery tray
Battery-cutoff switch
Ron Davis aluminum radiator
Aluminum header tank with internal thermostat
Auxiliary electric cooling fan
Ceramic-coated exhaust manifold, downpipes, and pipes to mufflers
Stainless-steel twin central mufflers
Stainless-steel rear exhaust pipes
Chrome rear mufflers
In addition, these parts are among those that were replaced during the 2002–2012 work:
Crankshaft damper
Rings
Bearings
Gaskets
Cylinder-head bolts
Fuel-pressure regulator
Fuel tank, filler hose, and sending unit
Wiring harness
Horns
Engine mounts
Exhaust mounts
Exhaust heat shield
The oil was changed most recently in October 2025.
The cylinder-head stamping is shown above, and the corresponding engine-block stamp is viewable in the gallery. The seller notes that the replacement “picture frame” does not display the car’s chassis number.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission that was rebuilt during the refurbishment, during which the clutch and cylinders, flywheel, prop-shaft universal joints, and final-drive bearings and gaskets were replaced.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as a build date of May 18, 1967, and dispatch to New York on June 1, 1967.
The North Carolina title lists the car’s body style as an abbreviation for “coupe”.
