This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in British Racing Green over tan leather, the car is equipped with a black convertible top, open sealed-beam headlights, 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a stainless-steel exhaust system, and a Jensen AM/FM/cassette stereo. The car was refurbished in 1993, and the seller acquired it in 2018. This XKE Series I roadster is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, service records dating to 1976, an owner’s manual, a car show display board, and a Delaware title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Warwick Grey and was repainted British Racing Green as part of a 1993 bare-metal build by Lippincott’s Garage Jaguar Specialists. The brightwork was re-chromed at that time. Features include a replacement black convertible top, a top boot, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, open sealed-beam headlights, a driver-side mirror, triple windshield wipers, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with 185-section Avon Radial Steel tires. A spare wire wheel wrapped in a Pirelli Cinturato tire is housed in the trunk compartment. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, and brake servo unit were replaced under previous ownership, along with the front and rear U-joints. The rear suspension was overhauled under current ownership, which included replacing the bushings, bearings, Boge shock absorbers, brake pads, and brake rotors.

The cabin was reupholstered in tan during the 1993 build. The seats are trimmed in leather, color-coordinated door panels and carpets are fitted, and interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a heater, and a Jensen AM/FM/cassette stereo connected to speakers housed in custom enclosures on the sides of the center console. The clock does not work.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 89k miles, approximately 1,000 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

TThe 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The engine was overhauled in 1976 at approximately 70k miles, and modifications include an electronic ignition system, an electric cooling fan, and a porcelain-coated exhaust manifold. The carburetors were rebuilt under previous ownership, and the fuel pump and lines were replaced.

The cylinder head stamping 7E13671-9 matches the number on the Heritage certificate.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A stainless-steel exhaust system was installed under current ownership.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate lists the original colors and drivetrain numbers, as well as a build date of June 9, 1967. A Delaware Valley Jaguar Club 2017 Concours d’Elegance display board is also included in the sale along with a binder of service records.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
