This 1968 Jaguar XKE Series 1.5 roadster is believed to have spent time with two owners before being acquired by the seller in 1971. It was repainted in its current gray finish a year later and underwent an interior re-trim in dark blue leather as well as installation of a replacement black convertible top in the mid-2010s. Power is supplied by a 4.2-liter inline-six fitted with dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while shifting is through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission linked with a limited-slip differential. The car is further equipped with uncovered sealed-beam headlights, power-assisted disc brakes, and 15″ knock-off wire wheels as well as a wood-rimmed steering wheel, Smiths instrumentation, and a Targa AM/FM cassette stereo. This XKE Series 1.5 roadster is now offered with a tool roll and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The seller tells us that this example was repainted in its current gray finish in 1972 and that the bumperettes and tubular guards were re-chromed a year later in 1973. A replacement black soft top was installed circa 2012, and various paint chips were reportedly repaired in 2002. Further details include a louvered clamshell hood, a driver-side mirror, a wraparound windshield, triple windshield wipers, a luggage rack, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes rust around the door frames.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by rounded knock-offs. The 185-width Michelin tires were mounted circa 2005. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.

The seller notes that the cabin was refreshed in 2012. The re-covered seats are trimmed in dark blue leather and accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, armrest, and door panels. Further interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, a heater, and lap belts along with a Targa AM/FM cassette stereo.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a Smiths 160-mph speedometer and 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles, approximately 30k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was factory rated at 246 horsepower and 263 lb-ft of torque. The seller tells us that the exhaust system was repaired in 1972.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The seller reports that the clutch assembly was serviced circa 2013 and notes rust on various underside components.
