The red car is a series one e type. 4.2 liter double overhead cam straight 6 engine. Numbers matching car Rear axle ratio is likely 3.07 but options could go down to 2.9 which was called Le Mans gearing with a top speed of 172. The red car is likely 3.07 I have had it up to 140 and it was still pulling strongly. The e type is derived from the racing d type that won Le Mans 4 times in the 50’s. One Le Mans win was a Jaguar c type in 1951 Original color was silver blue metallic but was changed to red when he received the car in 1966. The color is Carmen red with black interior. The leather seats are new about 4 years ago as the old ones were just ….old. It drives great It really does. It does need a tune up which I’ll get done in a couple weeks or so. I hope … lol. So the e type was derived from the racing D type and as such has a central monocoque chassis with 8 bolt quick drop rear end , unequal length an arms , independent rear suspension, etc. It is truly a marvelous piece of engineering that is as much art as anything else. In fact the New York museum of modern art has one on display and was the first car they put in their museum. After all Enzo Ferrari said it was the most beautiful production car ever made when it was unveiled March 15 1961. I am blessed to have it in my garage. The title in Texas which my son has says TE32198. The actual vin is 1E32198 and is verified by the Daimler heritage trust certificate. So the texas title is wrong and apparently even old ohio title was wrong as well. It’s a numbers matching car. number three car and this is a 3 or a 2 minus minus because it is a driver. About 72 thousand miles on it. 4 speed all synchromesh transmission.
